    Damn. Lots of drawbacks for such an expensive sword...

    Even though it's functional. this is meant to be pretty and not used. Unless your rich and don't care.

    The thickness of the saya not matching the tsuka and like you said, the total lack of finesse on the tsuka, total turn off's for me. I think Thaitsuki needs to do some major improvements especially considering the price point they put themselves in.

      The thaitsuki S02 is the same price as a citadel lotus. Or at least close.. Thaitsuki gives you silver fittings that are hand made and a folded steel san-mai blade the citadel gives you none of that but gets all the details of assembly right. I don't know if there is anyone that does it all right for $2000 but people certainly expect them to.

      +Matthew Jensen (Funny Sword Reviews) the silver fittings arent a selling point to me as I would just prefer iron. The San Mai blade is a selling point for sure. But they just blow it on the small details.
      Citadel will build you a laminated blade but it's so expensive that you sit there saying "yeah at this point I'd be better off with Raw, Sorrels or Clark". Also the fact that you cant get the tsuka off of the Nakago is a major put off. Even on my cheap Musashi it came off with a few gentle taps with a rubber mallet.
      One of these days though, the China Kat makers are going to get their act together and make pieces we can't nitpick. :) Great vid as always!

    Nihonto ? Kinda a lie , no it is a lie. The guy claiming that his family has been making swords for 400 years , it's not true . It's glued but not good if you need to do a good cleaning and if it's cracked ! Those swords are shit! They put shiny stuff on it and people will pay the reticules price ! People keep buying there crap ! Silver isn't soft , not real silver anyway .

    How is cutting with the sword

    • @Matthew_Jensen
      @Matthew_Jensen  8 лет назад +1

      I did not do any cutting yet. I am not sure I will or not. I opted to sell at least one of them. I put them up on ebay and I don't want to cut with them yet because it will affect the value. If one sells and I opt to keep the other, I will probably take it to some cutting tests. I will also take it apart..

    Typical thaisuki refuse...you couldn't take the tsuka off because its filled with epoxy and shims. Perhaps they round up lady-boys to assemble the swords? haha.....

    • @Matthew_Jensen
      @Matthew_Jensen  6 лет назад +3

      I am not sure about the assembly. The folks at Thaitsuki were respectful of the review feedback. They gave me some of their thoughts on why they do what they do. Maybe I will get another one sometime and have a chance to hammer a little harder on it.
