There's a wee bug in the audio for this video, with a muted section for a couple of seconds around 3:15. The missing sentence is:
"When it comes to cost, there is definitely a hike depending on the cabin type you book."

Feeling lucky as we won't ever need to book at this level when cruising with Princess. We don't need a larger cabin due to always needing to book accessible cabins, don't drink alcohol in any form so don't need a special lounge for drinking my diet cokes, never worry about booking paid restaurants as we find the food totally fine in the MDR and buffet, and being Elite with Princess, Diamond with Royal and Elite with Celebrity, we get some free perks anyway. It can still be quite comfortable to stick with the basics when it comes cruising the high seas.

Thanks, I'm a Solo cruiser, also Elite with Princess - & feel the same. Last cruise I was mislead by the host in the Elite lounge, about Cocktail specials - but I would never ever want a drink or internet package. It's flushing money down the drain. I'm already paying 2 fares!

I think if I was going to pay a premium for my fare I don't think I would like to share with 4000 other guest even with my own exclusive areas. Think I would do Seabourne or similar. I have looked at the reserve class before but the staterooms offered were not necessarily better room with some lacking privacy due to there location or no shelter from the weather. Don't look for me in the Sanctury.

I think that’s a definite alternative. A lot of these ship within a ship concepts charge a whole lot extra for the experience, and you really could cruise with a luxury line for the same (or even less in some cases). Some love the big ship feel though, and they can get the best of both worlds with the S.W.a.Ship concept.

The Sanctuary is a true quiet and peaceful day for us, we love it. At sea right now and just finished afternoon tea in the sanctuary.

@@Highway18the sanctuary on sun Princess will have a fun deck for children overlooking it. Good luck with that serenity

As usual Adrian an honest appraisal.
Personally no, I wouldn’t book the sanctuary club. I can see how it would appeal to others though.
I have said it before, this to me is a regression, getting back to class distinction of the mid 20th century sailing, and how much you are willing to pay. This of course, is anyone’s prerogative if it is on offer.

      Thanks 🙏🏼
The class distinction is definitely back, it’s a strange thing isn’t it.

Booked a Suite Penthouse for July! Cannot wait. As a long time Princess cruiser, looking forward to this new ship.

All I would like from the ship within a ship experience is for it to be completely childfree and only having to share a dining table with my husband … that’s it but it seems like no cruise line offers this mores the pity.

I think something like Viking, or maybe Silversea/Seabourn/Oceania could be interesting for you to look into.

This would have to be at least as good as the retreat on Celebrity for me to book, but would not pay the extra for just a balcony cabin.

I don’t think I’d pay the extra for the balcony cabin either, but if I was a suite-cruiser then the additional perks would be welcome.

At the price that they charge for ship within a ship, it is better value to go on Seabourn or Silversea etc……

Definitely something to consider. Some of the top tier all-inclusive pricing on mainstream cruise lines really does match or exceed what people pay on luxury cruise lines.

Paying the extra for Celebrity Retreat is WELL worth it. Try it and you'll know what I mean.

We booked the full suite on Sun Princess for New Year's this year. Can't wait. I actually prefer the food on Princess over Celebrity.

    • @TheCruiseandTravelGuy

@@bermando8844 I have to disagree. Dining in Luminae exceeded my recent experiences with Princess. The food was good, but not of the same calibre. Complimentary dining in the specialty restaurants (particularly Murano) onboard Eclipse also remains a highlight.
Enjoy your upcoming cruise experience on Sun, it will be brilliant, I'm sure.

I’d do it every time. We only take a mini suite for full suite. Not having to think about waits for a table is a restaurant is worth it to us as well as table for 2.

Definitely some good perks built in to the new program and like you, I think my favourite would be the guaranteed restaurant seating without a wait.

Stop asking “is it worth it?” I have enough money that I don’t care. “Is it worth it “is so subjective. I would NEVER book an interior cabin. Some people would only book that cabin in order to cruise.

Hi there! Check the Princess website deck plans for Sun, and when you’re given the option, choose for sailings from October 14th. Then find your cabin and if it is a sanctuary collection cabin, it’ll be indicated on the deck plans, as the SC ones have a new category designation.
