So cool! Can’t wait to try this! I got a sewing machine for my birthday and have been experimenting with journal sewing, so this might be a good challenge for me. I’m 73 and my goal since retirement has been to learn something new every day and you have taught me many ways to fill my pages. Thank you for taking time to show us the little details that make our crafting special and fun.❤
Thank you, Kate. I fully believe that ideas and creativity are best when shared so I love hearing that someone has been inspired by something I've made ❤️
Thank you for this fabulous idea, and for your detailed instructions/explanations - absolutely I cannot wait to gather all my lace scraps to make something. Beauty from scraps - I love that!
Such a fun pocket, friend! Love it! It reminds me of my raggedy journal covers and I think it would be really cute to put a matching pocket in a journal with the raggedy cover. Great project! My project will air on Wednesday’s video. I’m going to do the #LittleBitsofLace2024 each Wednesday after my Margarete Miller Challenge. So excited about this! Love and hugs to you, dear Cori! ❤
Finally got to finish the video. I love this little pocket, such a great way to use of the tiny scraps. I am trying to follow along with this challenge, Im thinking I should have used a smaller book...lol Thank you for sharing
I use a straight iron too! I started when I started selling on eBay, Etsy, and was getting rid of toys. Used it for ribbons on doll clothes & even the clothes! I’ll do anything not to get the iron out! Lol! Great video! ❤
The beauty of sewing in jj’s is that very basic, older machines work great! eBay, Offer Up, etc are all great places to find machines for reasonable prices. Happy sewing to you!
Love this!! I'm going to make a stack of these. There are so many uses for this. Sometimes, I struggle to use my lace because it feels frilly and feminine. I sell them at markets, so I try for neutral.. This is a great way to use my scraps. Thank you ❤
@@CoriDahmenlook at all the lovelyness y’all have started! My hubs is home recovering from surgery, so he’s going to be my snipper 😂cutter. I’m covering coin wrappers to make tassels and snippets for my lacey orphanages😊❤
Well Ms.Cori, I must say my year is starting off in such a special way! …a great cup of coffee …and my favorite teacher…. I’m gonna soak this up as much as I can!!! Once again, you are amazing and so inspiring!!! I’m excited to see how you continue on with this project…have a wonderful day/ week…🥰♥️😘
Not entirely sure why, but I also love sewing inside my journals. I like how there are so many options that there is something for everyone. Thank you!
So so pretty many thanks for sharing this. Do you have a tutorial on the centre black sections and how it was made please? I would love to try this as never seen that before. Thanks again
Hi Lorie! I put the # at the beginning of my words, in the title, which makes it easier for others to find. I've been horrible about updating my Instagram, but that is always a great place to share things!
This is so adorable! I have to give it a try! Since Santa brought me a small beginners sewing machine, I have a very beginners question. 😂 When you first sewed the small pieces of lace on the card in lines, did you just sew all the way off the ends of the card? Or did you stop when you reached the end each time and back stitched a little? I ask because it looks as if it was sewn all the way each time with no back stitching. Not until the final, all the way around stitch. Sorry most people probably know this already 😂. Thanks! Hugs 🤗❤️
For the sake of ease and speed I sewed all the way to the edges and a bit beyond. I knew I’d trim it down and sew along all the edges once the lace was adhered, which also captures the cut ends of the long-stitch threads. It saves a lot of time and thread that way. Happy creating!

Happy belated birthday and the good thing about this one is that it’s tough to go wrong…. No mistakes! Thank you and happy creating.
What!?! A hair straightener! Who knew! What a fantastic idea Cori! You’re so clever! Thank you for sharing!
Lol. I’m not a huge fan of pulling out the iron and board, so a hair straightener works well for me. Happy 2024!
Yahoooooo…what a GREAT PROJECT…I’m REALLY EXCITED TOO ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you and yay!!!!

Yay, thank you! I promise, it is fun 😊
Great idea! ❤️ I use little bits of lace here and there but love this idea so much. I like the added texture of lace to ephemera.
Me too! Texture is such a great addition, as long as you don’t mind a bit of bulk. Thank you 😊
Love the lace ,fun video

Super fun pocket, Cori. I copied your flat iron tip from one of your older videos, it’s a game changer!
That is awesome! And I agree… hair straighteners make super irons!
So super nice, love it…
Thanks so much 😊
This is so pretty! I'm hoping to get a new machine soon, I miss sewing. It sure does make it easier if everything is as flat as possible. ❤😊
The beauty of sewing in jj’s is that very basic, older machines work great! eBay, Offer Up, etc are all great places to find machines for reasonable prices. Happy sewing to you!
Wonderful! I'll add this my arsenal!
It’s a fun one. Thank you!

Love this series already!!! Only day 2!!!. I think that pocket would also make a great journal cover- love the look & feel of it💕
It does make a fantastic journal cover, but I’d maybe sew both vertically and horizontally to make sure the bits stay firmly in place. Thank you!
Love it!
Thanks!!

Hi Cori, Where do I put the # ? To join in ? I don’t have utube channel I am not sure where I put this to take part.
