If you didn’t want to be alone in my hometown, I am a 45 minute BART ride to San Francisco. But I understand being an introvert. When my wife went to China to see her mom, I got an Amtrak California pass for 159. I could travel for 7 days in a 21 day period. It was a good deal because the last leg of my trip from San Diego to Santa Barbara would have cost 96. Not many train rides but I was on a bus a lot. I took a bus from San Jose to Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara to Las Vegas. Las Vegas to Los Angeles. Los Angeles to San Diego on train. Then a train ride from San Diego to Santa Barbara. Then a bus ride back to San Jose. That trip was only 5 days and I had 2 days left. I used 1 of those trips to take a day trip on train to Sacramento. I would have saved a lot of time by driving but I am not as sharp a driver as in my younger days. Plus my wife ordered me not to drive. It used to be Lyft was always less expensive, but in comparison Uber currently is the much more economical way to go. But it was fun doing that trip all alone and staying in hostels that whole trip. We did stop at a Japanese restaurant in the Serramonte center in Daly City. We did go to the cemetery in Colma and stopped for lunch at a Japanese restaurant. My wife had a bento box with salmon, tempura and rice and salad. I had a very good curry dish. I believe you did the correct thing by staying in JapanTown. Yes it is a bit shaky in the rest of the city. I was surprised they went through with opening the new type of IKEA store on Market Street. Unlike my store that I work at, they do not have big merchandise and no warehouse. They are set up to be a Markethall type store selling all the little stuff. Yes the gifts are more expensive in JapanTown. Chinatown would have been much more reasonable. But Diaso is the best. There are several in my area. The Great mall and on Decoto Road in Union city. BART has switched to newer and more modern trains. In comparison to riding the subway to Brooklyn, I prefer to ride BART. But it has been awhile since I invaded your territory. Thanks for the video. J-town is nice but don't walk too far away bc there's a low income housing projects across the street. I've been robbed at gun point on Geary street in the afternoon waiting for the bus.
