Kate Davis is reminiscent of Edie Brickell and The New Bohemians. She has the same haunting beauty and lilt to her voice. The bass playing is really a nice cherry on top of the KD pie.

The original 1934 recording by Louis Prima is titled "That's where the South Begins". Kate has rewritten nearly all the lyrics to fit the new "That's Where the West Begins" theme. You can even hear she accidentally says "South" right at the end of her first time through before her bass solo.
