Java Mill Tour 1998
This is a light edit of the 1998 Java Sugar Mill Tour led by Rob Dickinson and assisted by TC (Tjeng Chiao). I have organised this from West to East as that was roughly the direction the tour took.
The footage includes some mill now closed, some that had steam-worked field lines at the time, some that have given up railways entirely and some that are now 100% diesel.
Now that steam remains in daily use during the season at only 3 mills (and two of these are fireless steam operations), this footage shows a much more steamy Java with lots of variety.
The footage will appear in chunks of around 30 minutes which should make for some good extended viewing. I won’t prepare a specific description on each part but will add titles to show the mills being shown.
