    @Honey Bird, As Julia said in the video, this film started early when the factory just restarted, and ended filming around 2015, at that time these Chinese workers left their families and came here to work for several years.

      They didn't let the Chinese workers bring their families and didn't give them any extra pay. I'm sure the CEO saw his family.

    There is a popular Chinese saying "Don't rush but be quick" at what you do (professionally at work). It worked for thousands of years.

    I think this makes us thinking why our factories are closed in US, what can we do to keep them running and keep the jobs here.

      Ray M , there’s two morals to this documentary. 1) Americans don’t think and work like the Chinese so a labor intensive factory like this one will not be competitive on a global scale 2) Automation will allow American factories to be competitive on a global scale.

    They cry they are hungry, you give them work to earn the food, they complain they don’t have enough time to text and take breaks.

    That CEO was guilty of age discrimination and fired pro-union folks before they could vote yes. One is against the law and the other is just bad.

    Nobody wants to talk about the differences in political systems that allow Chinese companies to exploit it's workers. In order to build a business you must have ties to the party. There is a lot of cronyism. I think it could be heard in the comments of one of the younger Chinese supervisors, what the attitude towards workers is, an employer should be able to force their workers to work as many hours as he wants.

    • @bryanj2881
      @bryanj2881 5 лет назад

      That's not true. The big companies maybe. Government always fears that the big money would influence their dominance. Middle sized and small companies don't have ties to the party. You don't need ties to open a business

      Perhaps it also depends on the industry. I did sublet a room in San Francisco to a student from China. He already had a degree in business and he was explaining to me that he wanted to specialize in the insurance business. He explained to me that you would not get a licence to have your own business unless you have connections in the party.

      @@JoeSmith-ev2bg Haven't said that...still the US is a democratic republic, with 3 "independent branches of government and democratically elected officials. Different from a one party communist/socialist one party system. See for example what was understood as union at the chines plant.

    In the development of globalization, the first countries that have entered the globalization have accumulated huge amounts of wealth. The inequality of resource information has made it possible for individual countries and regions to provide high welfare and high treatment. But the cake is so big, and the degree of globalization will inevitably make it The resource advantage is weakened, the harder people, the more efficient organization will inevitably grab the cake in your mouth, the social life world is cruel, you can't call for money, but fight for it.
    If you are such an American employee, you can live a decent life with a mixed life. Now that life has changed, you definitely want to take back your work and drive away the Chinese. But capital won't give you the chance, even without the Chinese, there will be artificial intelligence. If you don't work hard, your work will be taken away by the Chinese and even robbed by artificial intelligence.
    Globalization does not give everyone a chance. You have resources, good, give you a big piece of meat, you have no resources, you work hard, good to give you some broth. The advantage of resources is eroded by globalization. If you don't work hard, you will only sit on the mountain.
    The confrontation has just begun. Do you choose to make a big cake or protect the existing cake? Reason may tell you that you should seek to grow together.
    Only when the working class liberates all mankind can it liberate itself and count on the temporary welfare benefits, which will not last long in the long run. Exploitation is far from when it can exit the stage, because there are many people in the world who are eager to be exploited, and you are not exploited. If someone is willing to be exploited, you can only give the cake to others.
    Is the working class self-help, or is the artificial intelligence under the support of capital liberating all mankind? Capital-backed artificial intelligence certainly serves the interests of capital. Is artificial intelligence the culmination of capital's prosperity? The grave-digger of capital is the capital itself. Will artificial intelligence become this grave-digger? Is liberation of all human beings artificial intelligence?
