We had a 4 stall Surge system in late 50’s on. Real similar to yours, our Harvestore for high moisture corn was close enough that it was run up above in bins and gave the cows their rations by small electric motors. They got their daily corn while milking, not in the silage in the bunk. Same pull rope method for in and out. Worked well, local schools brought classes thru for field trips. Still miss milking. Great video, thx for the memory trip....

The unappreciated dairy farmer up and at em 7 days a week twice a day 365 days a year. Selling milk for the same price as they did in the sixties. No adjustment for inflation or the massively increased price of farm equipment, feed inputs. To have the desire to do this everyday is all heart....hats off to the American dairy farmer hope you can strive on..

Making do with what you have is a noble endeavor !!! They don't pay extra for grade A just because it comes from a fancier parlor do they ?Read other comments that they'd quit before they'd milk like that , that'd make more room for you and you could improve if you choose to or you took take a profit and enjoy yourself ! After watching some of your machinery videos it is pretty cool to see where the crop side meets the end use so to speak . We have a farm that has a three stall parlor like this , I never actually milked but we had a guy that did it on shares for a while in early 80's been sitting idle for 30 years ! I sold and delivered a lot of hay to some dairies in southern Wisconsin early 90's always thought it was kind of a romantic life style but a lot of everyday work , for sometimes low pay ! Thanks for the lol inside what your business is really all about !

You are exactly right, dad never upgraded completely because he didn’t know if we were coming back to the farm. When we took over we realized the parlor is more than sufficient! By you seeing other videos and all our big green equipment that’s what payed for it all..the cows and this parlor.
