  • Over the years I’ve had more than a few students show me videos of a performance by the Melbourne group La Rumba of the song “El Zorro”, and each of them has many millions of views. In this video I aim to finally answer my students’ question as to how to play this rumba guitar strumming pattern.
    Learn the 3 secrets to nylon string mastery with my free workshop ▶
    In this free workshop I'm going to show you:
    -The 3 secret (but easy) concepts that most guitarists don’t know about.
    -The 3 right hand techniques you need to know to learn and enjoy the nylon string guitar.
    -How to excel on nylon string in only minutes a day, instead of the endless hours most people think it takes.
    -A targeted exercise I have developed to quickly work on over 90% of the right hand techniques we ever use in only a few short minutes!
    …And you’ll get my 15-page “Nylon String Quick Start Guide” outlining all the right hand essentials.

    Man, This is way better than my explanation. Haha, Great job. Fun fact. Mikey grew up playing percussion, and so by the time he found the guitar (many many years later) his rhythm was already solid as hell. He was a joy to play with. Again, great break down. I'll just send people here when they ask about it.

    Hi Scot, thanks for your great approach to the rumba Rhythm to Zorro. I’ve heard the outstanding original version hundred times but the deconstruction is un-achievable I think…

    Hi scott, i just wanna add something that a lot of people don't notice. Mike rajab (the one that you show in your video) and almost all the gypsies use, is a golpe made by the thumb under E1 right before attaching the mouvement number 4.
    Thanks again

    Hi Scot. Thanks for the great tutorial ...the cords are played at the very beginning and even though it looks as if the accent of this tutorial is not on the cords any chance you can explain where on the freat scale are thouse cards played? It's a little too fast to capture although I may try to slow the beginning part down a little...to

    Pls teach double golpe, abanico and rumba played by Kendji Girac in his song bella I think he uses double golpe while playing also talabi brothers play exciting rumba variations !! I like ur channel.alot

    • @TheVersatileGuitarist
      @TheVersatileGuitarist  Год назад +1

      What do you mean by double golpe? There’s a lot more digital drums in that song than guitar so it’s hard to hear - do you mean the 2 “snare” hits in every measure? I did hear a little golpe type thing following the same beat around 2:34 in the song). Or is there an acoustic version of this song?

    • @Shafaq69
      @Shafaq69 Год назад

      @@TheVersatileGuitarist Kendji performed acoustic live versions too but man I love the rumba played in that song would be highly thankfull if you can make a lesson of that. Double snare is same as double golpe where the player hits thumb 2 times in one beat. Appoligies if I am not able to explain it well. Also I visited your site for lessons but I think I need zoom based classes do u teach students in group or one on one online ?

      @@TheVersatileGuitarist hi Scott, once I did a video for someone that is in my "Chanel" (I just post it for him in order to slow it down and learn. I'm not into RUclips Chanel at all). It was rumba of entre dos Aguas performed by the group La Rumba. The double golpe technique that you viewer was asking about is the one that I began the video with.
      Thanks again
