Dilemma amoung the Indian Navy and with Strategic thinkers in India is to have more Submarines or more Aircraft Carrier. Indian Think Tanks pressing for more Stealth Submarines for surprise attack on enemy rather than Huge Aircraft carrier which could be easy floating target for modern Smart Missiles and drones in the sea. India may go with both at same time as China is making rapid moves in Indian Ocean.

There is not a single American fighter jet in Indian Air or Naval Forces. No American fighter has ever been part of Indian inventory. And this will remain the case for the foreseeable future.
As for the "mix of fighters," by 2035, most of the older types will be retired and the only fighter jets left in the IAF will be:-
36 French-designed and built Rafale
272 Russian-designed airframe and engine, but Indian-designed avionics and largely Indian-built Su-30 MKI UPG
223 India-designed and built Tejas Mk1A
~180 Indian designed and built Tejas Mk2
~40+ Indian designed and built AMCA
So other than two squadrons of French Rafale, virtually all Indian fighters in the remaining 37 squadrons will be almost completely Indian.
