IDK the hip blasters seem silly IMO. The Freedom and Strike Freedom at least had flair. The OG Buster used them much more practically as arms for its beam cannons. The Lightning Buster getting little short stubs that unfold and become guns feels like a design copout.
Right on. It’s definitely my only gripe with the kit, or the design itself rather. I wish they would’ve just stuck some Freedom railguns in there, it would’ve been so much cooler.
I saw you could add the old Buster Gundam's cannons onto the Lightning Buster to have a massive weapon set ruclips.net/user/shortsSdyB7AxY_d0?si=qxQOCo5Y5cx5xeF5
They might look kinda silly, but when you think about it, the Buster isn't meant to engage in close combat, and those guns allow the Buster to have options in the unlikely scenario something manages to get close to the Buster, while at the same time not straying from the Buster's focus on heavy firepower. This way, if something gets too close, the Buster can use the small guns to quickly shoot down anything that gets too close without having to switch weapons, or at least allow it to gain some distance until help arrives, and it can also use them to bombard enemies at mid range.
The Zaku 3 has a similar gimmick where the front hip skirts fold up and the sides of the front skirts fold out to become handles to become some sort of skirt guns gimmick.
Accidentally coloured those cheeks red (same colour as what i painted the missiles). In my defense I was drunk. Liked how it looks and ended up painting all the orange parts red too.
the joke in the fandom is to solve the Buster Gundam's lack of melee weapons the Buster could use its cannons as clubs to smack the enemies assuming they are strong enough or the cannons has Phase Shift armor, lol.
Because this suit is called The Lighting Buster, I would have actually liked it to have Lightning Whips in each arm (like the Gouf’s heat rod weapon). I think that would be more fitting than a standard issue beam saber.
Thanks for the review and the tutorial in there. Since you mentioned the feet don't have a hollow space: What is the best way to fill/conceal the hollow spaces on other kits?
I'm actually building this right now. I like the build, but the plastic feels quite brittle imo. Pretty much every color except the grey I fear damaging in some way when cutting off the runner. I even noticed the plastic getting stressed when I put the front skirts into the socket
"Same old Dearka, Buster! Straight Buster!" It is solid kit, however the static missile pod and hip guns thay could be obstruction for the big guns are the disappointing part of the kit

@zakuaurelius another great review and awesome tutorial. I am trying to find that blade you used for the top portion of the beam saber. Can you point me in the right direction please and thank you!
I have a real problem with using stickers for cameras and small parts I went on amazon a few years ago and bought a few large pack of acrylic paint pens in solid colors and metallic colors definitely looks alot better than the foils do
That hip gun parts-formation for deployment HURTS so bad, very disappointing. That and the cheeks really should have been part-separated are what sunk this very promising kit for me. I love heavy suits
Honestly this kit let me down, especially compared to the duel, and mine had extremely loose feet, that couldnt even handle the buster minus the backpack, just doesnt feel like it should cost as much as it did
Read the guide book description They are one of those ZAFT dirty secret considering what happen in SEED freedom They are packing neutron jammer canceller 😂
They look cool they're a little overpriced and the fact that it does not come with Polly caps is really sad, that worked with the original model and done what they did with the destiny Gundam and the zaku warrior back in the day with the pivoting pins for front to back shoulder movement they don't have to keep doing these ball and socket joints for the shoulders because eventually the joints are going to wear out with the plastic on plastic Also if you could have you should have gone with a green blade to match the green energy coming out of the cannons and the little hip guns, and me I like to scratch up the edge and use putty to make the emitter for the beam saber take a little bit of Vaseline or water to the point where it plugs in on the blade side press it into the putty for a little bit use your fingers to straighten it up and then carefully pull the blade back out and then use a sanding stick or a knife to very gently carve it into the shape you want.5 mm plastic plate to the sides of the end of the runner and fill that up with either more plastic plate and then drill a hole or fill it up with putty and then again press the tip of the blade in or drill the hole out with the putty after it has hardened
I understand why some people aren't fans of the Lightning Buster's waist guns, but I think it actually makes a lot more sense than they might think. The Buster is meant to be deployed with a team, and unlike most Gundams, the Buster isn't meant to fight at the forefront of a battle, and because of that, it doesn't actually need a dedicated close combat weapon. The Buster is meant to provide long range fire support from the rear, while its teammates fight at the front. Having short-barrelled guns that are linked directly to the suit allows the Buster to have high powered guns that can be used at a variety of ranges including extremely close range, which gives the Buster a close range option in the unlikely scenario where something manages to get close to the Buster Gundam, and at the same time doesn't stray from the Buster's main strength, which is heavy firepower.
anyone with more than two brain cells know the hip peashooter is worthless outside of close range; you aren't a 200IQ genius for figuring this out. it's ridiculous because it has the audacity to demand a hand grip when the freedom already does this gimmick with 500 times the power.
The Verde Buster was also meant to be deployed with a team. And it had actual waist mounted beam cannons. Sure, they drained its battery really quickly, but the Lightning Buster didn't suffered of that issue, since it had a nuclear reactor. Why they didn't added larger guns on its waist is beyond me.
@@vm_duc Except they aren’t actually pea shooters and in the movie they were used at further than close range. I agree that the handles are a little ridiculous, but they might have something to do with the fact that every weapon that’s ever been mounted there has always had a handle and trigger.
@@valentetellezperez6538 They probably would’ve added larger waist-mounted guns if it weren’t for the new cannons they added to the back, plus the fact that those back-mounted cannons can fire from over the shoulder or at the waist. Having too many large guns placed so closely together could get in the way of each other. My guess for why they were designed this way is that the back cannons fire from over the shoulder with greater accuracy with the direct assistance of the shoulder sensors at long range, and they fire from the waist at mid range because they have greater flexibility in that position. The Lightning Buster’s small guns don’t get in the way of the new cannons while also still having a high output.
@@birumerah2896 i actually asked my local hobby shop why the price hike and they were like bandai packed some new tech with these set of seed kits…and my answer was yeah but it’s still a high grade that doesnt have a full inner frame lol…

I removed them on mine. It looks a lot better, imo
No seam lines, limited stickers, great articulation and color separation, and big guns, I would build this!
Except for the cheek stickers, I enjoyed this kit. Always a fan of the Buster as a concept.
appreciate the little beam saber hack at the end!

Verde Buster is the Buster Gundam with a close combat option.
Even though the hip blasters are small, they are the range equivalent of "Schneider Blades" for it's lightweight close combat blast performance.
Cool. Thx for that scratch build of the beam saber

Could add beam saber storage inside the white flaps of the shoulders
Of you take the hip guns off you can actually replace them with the old one from the hg buster gundam
