That's a Hi8 camcorder, not VHS.
Unfortunately, Gen Z kids have adopted "VHS" as a generic name for any old video equipment, just as they're using the term "Y2K" to refer to anything from the mid-'90s to early 2010s.

VHS and Hi8 is completely different. VHS is not a name like jeep seems to be for all offroadvehicles (which it also is not)

Totally get what you're saying. While Hi8 isn't VHS, most casette tape recording formats are generalized as "VHS" similar to how all off road vehicles are regarded as jeeps. While it isn't accurate, it is easier to group these together so that the topic can reach a wider audience. I appreciate your thoughtfulness.
No vhsc and video8 the same and hi8 and svhsc are the same have the same amount of lines just different features on the camcorders

I only have recommendations for HI8. Is there a certain reason you want MiniDV over another format?

how is you’re battery life at 661 minutes???
Large NPF batteries. I have an NPF-970 in the camera, you can get great battery life with that.
