These guys will always have a special place in my Heart, Neaera was my first ever metal concert I ever went to (way back in 2011)! I still remember it as it was yesterday! This song sounds just exactly like their old stuff and I f***in love it, always loved their songwriting and vocals, especially the guitar work/riffs. I highly recommend all of you to check out their older stuff. The Message that they broke up really hit me hard back then, but hearing this song for the first time after that long break, instantly brought back the good old memories from my teenage Years listening to them all day long. Neaera was also the reason for me to buy myself a Guitar and learn some of their songs, ahh those good old days
I'd love to add "Armamentarium", both the song as well as the album in its entity. That thing is a fucking masterpiece and "Torchbearer" is the logical sequel. Holy crap, am I stoked for that new record!
These guys still sound exactly the same and that is not a bad thing! love these guys and i am so happy that they are back!! if you want to check out some more of their stuff check out Spearheading the Spawn, Armamentarium, and Let the Tempest Come! Glad you got to experience these guys!
I'd say this song is on the same level als Armamentarium, which is still my favourite Neaera record. And I'm so looking forward to seeing these guys back on stage, their live performances are second to none :D Being from Münster, to this day I can't understand how I missed their first shows their, the first record release shows which they did in the same small club they do this one in (~300 people at best... this is gonna be good :D ). First show I went to was actually the one my old band opened for them (Omnicide release in 2009). Was great fun, even if everybody was as far away from the stage as they possibly could get when we played, but holy shit did Neaera destroy everything afterwards. Great show, great guys, but I think the best one I've seen (so far) of them was Impericon 2018 when they did 2 shows as a one-off 3 years after disbanding... they were obviously having at least as much fun as the audience, so after that, it was pretty much the obvious thing to do for them to come back. I really hope they're here to stay, at least for a couple of tours and records, they obviously still know what they're doing. Recommendations? - Spearheading the spawn, Armamentarium, Synergy, Prey to anguish (I'll never forget that one... they recorded the video on the release show and a couple of songs after they played it... "I'm very sorry, but we will have to play 'Prey to anguish' one more time, one of the cameras failed. Hope you don't mind." :D )
growing up in germany with metal core back then was all about Caliban, Neaera, Heaven Shall Burn all kinda trying to copy As I Lay Dying but man I loved that shit. I'm so fucking happy Neaera are working on a new album, their gotta go fast-style is actually very fun to listen to and it's quite motivating at work lol
Neaera are fucking awesome ! One hell of a german band! Btw. give their songs "Armamentarium" , "Spearheading the Spawn" and "Ours is the storm" a listen! :D
their intensity is unmatched. i love that noise! recommendations from the old albums: harbinger, age of hunger, in defiance, heaven´s descent. go for it ;)
@Gabriel Leyenberger Leyenberger nothing deathcore about them. Sure they have some metalcore influences from stuff like early Heaven Shall Burn, but riff wise, it's all very much influenced by Bolt Thrower, swedish death and black metal. Having a breakdown doesn't make something deathcore. Deathcore is more like suicide silence or whitechapel.

This guys are influenced by Heaven Shall Burn…
Thats a Trap, there is no Death Metal in this Video.
But good Music.
More Grind/Deatish, the Band Optimist also from Germany.
Good but I'd rather listen to Black Dahlia Murder a million times instead.
Is their older stuff death metal? Because that is not death metal. Good though, 👍
Melodic Death Metal 👍🏻
Oldschoolish Metalcore, but more Melodic Death Metal.
