Loved Chris Hemsworth as Dementus, but I have to agree that the movie didn't look as cool as Fury Road. And it was a little all over the place narratively. I'm with Mason Quinn on Mel Gibson's Max being awesome, The Road Warrior is definitely worth a watch. It's my favorite. :)

Not sure what the bigger shock is; Inside Out 2 grossing almost $1.7bn or Furiosa ($172.8m) not able to gross even half of Fury Road's $379.4m worldwide box office?!
Inside Out 2 is not shocking, as the first one was one of the best animated films of all time, and also, it's a PG movie while Furiosa is Rated R. Inside Out 2 is one of the best films of 2024, though, while Furiosa is a passable film, I wouldn't say it's in the top 5 of 2024 for me. It has many plot holes. On top of that, Furiosa is a prequel to a sequel, which a lot of the audience doesn't like as we already know the future of the character, so a lot of times audiences aren't interested.
@@reynaldolorenzo8409I did not like the first inside out , found very boring but it is a movie that appeals to kids more so is an easy watch for parents as yes it is more kid friendly but doesn’t baby it down so they did well there but for me it’s not something I would watch again

Because Furiosa was extremely bad movie, so many plot holes, bad effects, nonsensical action that makes no sense (first chase when they are attacked and most warboys die in 10 seconds but no one is using guns until there is only Furiosa and Jack left?!??!) so many dumb things happen that I couldn't believe. No wonder it flopped...
In this film, the Immortal Joe is played not by Hugh Kiyas-Byrne, who unfortunately passed away in 2020, but by Leitchie Hume, who also plays the one-eyed man Risdale Pell from the Dementus gang. And the two characters are also played by Chris Hemsworth's wife Elsa Pataky. This is General Vuvalini at the beginning and Mr. Norton from the same Dementus gang.
In the Mad Max video game Scrotus is actually the main villian, and there's a gravestone for Doctor Dementus. So while Scrotus looks different it's cool to see them both in the game and movie. It's a shame the show got cancelled

What I found most interesting is that while Fury Road and Furiosa do have their similarities, they’re also almost polar opposites as well. Fury Road was mostly action and visual oriented with their character development and dialogue being second nature kind of like the works of Genndy Tartakovsky where the action and visuals do the most talking. Furiosa on the other hand while having their fair share amount of action sequences, is the movie with the most amount of dialogue and character development. Even the music of the films reflects this way of thinking. Fury Road was a lot more bombastic, intense and triumphant with rocking metal guitar riffs and some emotional moments here and there. Furiosa on the other hand I noticed while still retaining the signature Mad Max electronics and tribal drums, has a lot more horror movie-esque type of sounds. Particularly those string tremolo textures. I also liked that they used a bit more of those really cool sounding woodwinds too. Both films are indeed twins and opposites.
was surprised more people didn't recognize actor Josh Helman, who played Scrotus... he was Stryker in "X-Men Apocalypse" and 'X-Men Days of Future Past".
He's also Slit in Fury Road. Nux's lancer. He's the last one to drive the Interceptor and dies when it gets crushed between the war rig and The People Eater's limousine. Although I firmly believe that Max leaves the Citadel at the end of Fury Road to go and get it back and fix it up.
Glad you guys enjoyed this film. You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for your reaction to this film. Like Mason Quinn, I saw this in theaters. However I saw it 5 times in theaters, the only film I’ve ever done that for. A few things of trivia for this film. First, the scene with the newly completed war rig apparently took 78 days to film, just to get that 15 minute sequence. Second, the guy who played Immortan Joe here was the same guy who was the one eyed man in Dementus’s crew. Third, the guy who was Scrotus here played Slit in Fury Road. Lastly, the little guy who was in the back of the war rig (the war pup) was put in the movie because George Miller heard that he was being bullied because of his dwarfism. Once again, glad you guys enjoyed it. I’ve been waiting a while for it. Looking forward to your future reviews.

I really liked this movie. So much so I saw it twice in a day and have seen it multiple times. I know it doesn't live up to some people but for me I liked both the timing and the storytelling. Anya Taylor Joy is so good. Can't wait to see her in the next Dune.
Regarding what the Oak was saying, Chris Hemsworth's character didn't quite work for me in this film. Every character in these movies is totally over the top, so that wasn't what bothered me, but I just didn't quite believe him as a person. Dementus felt more like someone playing a role, whereas Furiosa, Immortan Joe, etc. felt like genuine people (albeit in a preposterous world). Not blaming Chris - he does solid work as usual - but the presentation of Dementus didn't quite work for me.
Speaking of George Miller, that man has also directed two other movies that are completely outside the realm of his mad Max films. I love the detail of the cape going from white, red and then red with black throughout the movie while Dementus slowly loses the last of his humanity and with it his wants and desires, then it's the darkest while Furiosa wears it and driving home Dementus' point on how he made her like him but she took it off right after, leading to her to the quest of redemption in fury road.
Very underrated film. People expected it to be another fury road, imo. But George Miller does a great job balancing the action with great storytelling. A fantastic revenge film.
This movie exceeded my expectations. I love Fury Road, and I've seen it at least 5 times. I was reluctant to watch Furiosa in the first place because it was a prequel no one asked for and Anya Taylor Joy was noticeably different in appearance from the previous actress (I hate obvious recasting). But, the way they expanded the story, the action, and Anya's acting made it well worth it!!
Fury road did a lot to spark an interest in the Furiosa story. Having seen the original trilogy many many times I couldn't pass on Fury Road or, the ps4 Mad Max but, for Furiosa? I was almost counting the days.

I enjoyed this well enough, but I just don't think a prequel was necessary and and couldn't buy Hemsworth's character as neither an intense villain nor as comedic. He sunk every scene he was in. Why make a prequel and spend so little time with the characters and plot points that are relevant for the original? On the topic of you guys watching anime, I would really recommend an anime called "Grave of the Fireflies". I don't know if you guys have watched it but it would really mean a lot to have your perspective on it.
This movie wasnt bad by any means, but people were just flat out not as interested in a Furiosa movie, they wanted a Mad Max movie, especially when Furiosa was arguably the main character of Fury Road already. That and the noticeably higher use of cg over practical effects compared to the first turned people off a bit. Still liked it more than I expected, getting more lore of the Mad Max universe was cool
Words of caution... If one can't tell that the young Furiosa has a deepfake pass on her face to look more like Ana Taylor Joy.... You're going to have a rough next few decades😅
Chris Hemsworth & Anya Taylor-Joy along with everyone else involved did a fantastic job with what they were given. Did Furiosa meet your expectations? What was your reaction to this film?

On the topic of you guys watching anime, I would really recommend an anime called "Grave of the Fireflies". I don't know if you guys have watched it but it would really mean a lot to have your perspective on it.
FINALLY!! I went to the theaters for this. Love this movie a lot
Guys react to "The Chosen" please
Such a good movie, I’m watching this reaction tonight before bed
This movie wasnt bad by any means, but people were just flat out not as interested in a Furiosa movie, they wanted a Mad Max movie, especially when Furiosa was arguably the main character of Fury Road already. That and the noticeably higher use of cg over practical effects compared to the first turned people off a bit. Still liked it more than I expected, getting more lore of the Mad Max universe was cool
I loved Furiosa. The world building is extraordinary. It also just feels right, the storytelling especially.
Words of caution... If one can't tell that the young Furiosa has a deepfake pass on her face to look more like Ana Taylor Joy.... You're going to have a rough next few decades😅
