New Delhi Kathgodam Shatabdi Full Journey Highlights || Trip to Kumaon Himalayas

Presenting a complete journey undertaken from the National Capital - New Delhi to the entry point of Kumaons in the 02040 New Delhi - Kathgodam Shatabdi Special Express. The locomotive which hauled our train was 40080 Tughlakabad WDP 4B named as 'UDA DEVI'. The name of the locomotive is based on a freedom fighter, a warrior in the Indian Rebellion of 1857, who fought against the British East India Company.
The video features an entire coverage of the route. The main highlights are New Delhi departure, Ghaziabad arrival and departure, brisk morning run through Uttar Pradesh, speedy skips of Hapur Junction,Gajraula Junction, Amroha, Garhmukteshwar, etc. The mighty Ganga river, halts of Moradabad, Rampur, Rudrapur, Lalkuan, Haldwani, run through the plains of Northern Uttar Pradesh and forest region of Uttarakhand, Haldwani, Gaula river, arrival at the Kathgodam station. The only thing which was missing in the entire journey was the tasty breakfast of the Shatabdi train.
Watch out the Rampur NAWAB Station of the British era, TOKEN EXCHANGE & a few glimpses of the road trip from Haldwani to the hill station of Nainital in the Kumaon #Himalayas.

Some information about the train:-
It currently operates as a covid special train, numbered 02040 from New Delhi to Kathgodam and as train number 02039 in the reverse direction serving the states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand. The train presently has one Executive Chair, ten AC Chair Cars & two End on Generator coaches, though it had 1 extra coach 'CX1' on the day of my journey to clear the rush of holi weekend.
The Kathgodam bound train covers the distance of 282 kilometres in 05 hours 20 mins (53 km/hr). The New Delhi bound Shatabdi also take the same time.
The train starts from NDLS at 06:20 hrs and reaches KGM of at 11:40 hrs, the same day. In return the train starts back at 15:35 from KGM to reach back NDLS at 20:50 the same day.
The train halts at Ghaziabad Jn (GZB), Moradabad Jn (MB), Rampur Jn (RMU), Rudrapur City (RUPC), Lalkuan Jn (LKU), Haldwani enroute Kathgodam. The return train also has the same halt pattern.
