- Blair Outlan of USEDH1.com put this 2007 LBZ Duramax and 6 Speed Allison transmission into this AM General Humvee. Once we put our custom EFILive tuning and VVT Stealth 67G2 this monster really came to life. Off-road, daily commuting, race track fun, this truck does it all.

Thanks, Nick! Humvees are fun, and they have a soft ride. The one you drove is fast! My plan is for an LML.
Now that's how they shoulda built them....
It's a BEAST.
Iv always felt a duramax would be perfect in an H1
I've always felt that the Duramax diesel 6.6 liter powerplant would be perfect in a H2, Surburban, Tahoe, Yukon XL, Yukon, Denali Yukon XL, Denali Yukon, Cadillac Escalade ESV and Cadillac Escalade models, too.
The 2006 alpha h1 did have the duramax
Clinton news network generation is blind, thank goodness u guys put out somthing great!love ur stuff keep it up
5 years later and the humvee is still in service. I’ve been working on these for 8 years. Those MATVs and JLTVs are way too complicated. The electronics make them a nightmare. The Humvee’s engine and trans are just too unreliable. The t-case and cooling system is really good though.
Interesting. Appreciate the knowledge and comment!
I would love to see it with compounds, 60's and a 10 mil. Awesome job!
Freaking awesome!!
Woot woot 🙌🏼
Duramax tuner Humvee “heavy breathing!”
“Wife will never get in the passenger seat..” 👀
Take my money!!
That’s awesome! Good job.
I want to build the same thing. How do you do that. Where do you start?
Let the dodge and furd guys tell their stories. When GM puts its mind to something, you get the Duramax.
Duramax is an isuzu
Damn nice
Id be interested to know how this would translate using 39”!
Very nice!
@gostdogcrx Haha it would probably feel really over geared with some 39's on it!
Nick, that farmer isn't going to be too happy with you messing up his crop parcels.
"that farmer" was riding shotgun for this shoot.

In Germany Humvee's are so rare !
European roads tend to be a little tight for it, and the 55mph stock speed is pedestrian for the autobahn. Here in the states on the other hand, land of pickup trucks, its about the same width as an F-250, shorter in height, much shorter in length, and has about twice the ground clearance with a comparable towing capacity. The almost 4 decade old stock engine still lets it down, but this beauty doesnt have that problem.
heh, would love to see a lap time for this thing on the nurburgring
Considering how this thing handled as good, if not better than same era sports cars, it would prob kick ass.
okigojuryu 1979 are this fast when accelerating compare to the new let’s say Dongfeng EQ2050F 4x4 off road army truck are they faster than a military Humvee or not because more heavy and taller
what model was that Humvee ? was Humvee m998 ?
Man I'd love to work for you guys, looks like a lot of fun
We have openings in Customer Service and Turbo Assembly.

Thanks

Fun was had!
This thing would break a raptor and plus your family would be safer in this
Hell yeah brother! So what does something like that cost?
I believe Blair has this one listed around $70K-$80K.
To build it depends on your knowledge of basic mechanics and welding and fab
So....you have a Raptor , that’s cute ! 😂
Raptor eater
I seen more people get killed in roll over crash’s in them things then from bullets when I was in the service this thing absolutely needs a roll cage and even at that where you gonna mount it to the tin can body very dangerous platform
They hold up pretty well. Take a good beating. They are heavily abused.
Was Jim's new mega racing against the lbz humvee?
yes it was.
Are you using the stock HMMWV shafts from the transfer case to the front and rear diffs?
12.1 shafts, 12.1 brakes, XHD T-case. Yes, stock 2.56 diffs. (amazing they hold up)
Yeah, thats amazing. Thanks for answers. I am also thinking converting to LMM in my 95 two door H1 6.5. I do all the work my self, but its a pain in the B.. to find a decent Dmax lmm here in Scandinavia.
@@zenhummer - Interesting. You upgraded the drive shafts, brakes and transfer case, but not the diffs or the axles? The thing is making something like 5 times the power of the original power plant. Why would you expect the stocks diffs to hold up or the axles not to snap? Is it because there are no HD components available for those bits? I'm definitely not an expert (which is why I'm asking), but it sounds like a bunch of expensive broken parts waiting to happen. Fantastic rig, otherwise. Just amazing to see it move like that.
Meadmaker 452 I’m pretty sure the diffs and axles will be just fine. I’m not 100% sure but these things get a ton of armor over seas. Which adds a shit ton of weight to this already heavy underpowered truck. I’m talking like at least a thousand pounds of armor. I’m pretty sure it’s closer to 2k will all the military gear and people included. I don’t think 700 foot pounds of torque will do much damage. Probably just heat issues if any.
What is the fuel consumption? Thanks.
The original almost 4 decade old 6.2l averaged 14mpg, varying between 4 and 24 depending on load and how its treated. This aint that, though XD
How much for a clean one like this? Were best place to buy?
Govplanet seems to be the primary source for straight from the military, new batch being auctioned as is about every week (usually close between 10 and 15k). For a cleaned up one with all the paperwork in order? I dont know
military should consider upgrading humvee's engine
They don't use the HMMWV any longer
What's the mileage on that one?
Fuel mileage or Odometer?
@@Duramaxtuner Fuel
@@braedonwells7616 No idea what the MPGs are. You don't build something like this if you're worried about MPGs.
So why did they gear it so low for the military??? Its not towing tanks out of the mud..... If you watch humvee youtube, everyone sells it after a year but if it hits highway speeds, this would definitely be more desirable.
Would assume for where it was being used is the low gearing.
but something about the sound of the original diesel engine.
H1 with a soft top weighs 800lbs less than a Toyota Sequoia (5100lbs vs 5900lbs).
That's pretty wild
@@Duramaxtuner H1 is shorter than a Toyota Camry as well.
What are those seats called? Can I get them through you guys?
Blair Outlan at XI Diesel should be able to help with that.
Gosh. They break all the time with no power.
600hp, stripped and soft top and still slow
Does your 3.8 mustang destroy corn fields like that?
For a giant truck, it's pretty quick. And it can run over your rustang
I like it, but it needs a CUMMINS!
To bad it’s a piece of junk Duramax. Should’ve made it a Cummins.
The Cummins aren't a good fit for the hmmwv
Hey cool video….. i’m gonna put a Duramax in mine also. I have a couple questions. Could I email you?
