Honestly I think Sunny’s mom would have just been miserable, she had lost both her children to “suicide” and from what we know, she doesn’t have anyone else.
the fact that Sunny had killed himself right after seeing Basil had took his life is so heartbreaking, even if the boy is silent he still really cared for Basil. i like to think Sunny had a deep connection with Mari and Basil so it was too hard losing them both in the end. Poor Basil though, a 12 year old being a tragic witness is so sad. he went through so much bullying and guilt i imagine he'd been suicidal even before the incident. and him knowing how to tie a noose is super worrying. his parents were never really there and he normally didn't have any friends. he probably thinks its all his fault, considering when he had grown up, he realized how wrong it was to fake Mari's suicide. a 12 year old wouldn't know that, he was in the most shocking state. Basil is really misunderstood.
The fact that his grandma also passed away on that very day... You can imagine how it feel, what Basil hold onto his whole life if not his parent were his friend group. The absence of the parent made Basil shares deep connection with his Grandma, sort of seeing her as parental figure, i believe the case is the same with Mari and Hero, furthermore Basil grew attached with Sunny as well. Then it all went downhill after he witnessed the incident, worse that he framed it as suicide. Because he wanted to protect Sunny, and yeah it is concerning how a 12 year old could understand such a thing, but i learned that's what happened when you had no parent to teach you stuff, you began to do your own research. Basil know Sunny will be in big trouble if this ensued, so, he lied to everyone, even himself. Four year of being bullied, his grandma and the plant were probably the only thing that make him continue living, but then she passed away, and plant can't talked. No matter how much he cried, they just listen, listen but never spoke. Sunny and the plant were similliar, a good listener, but Sunny comforted him. So hearing the news that Sunny is moving within a few days... I don't think even he can carry such burden, oh yeah don't forget Aubrey almost killed him-
For real! I'm so confused and kinda annoyed that there's people who actually dislike/hate Basil. They're so unempathetic towards him?? All they see are the mistakes he made. I really don't get how you can hate Basil after playing the game and seeing everything he went through.

Something I realized in the ending where Basil kills himself but Sunny ends up moving away, I see that when SOMETHING follows him outside the house into the car, SOMETHING is bigger than before, and since SOMETHING is more of a figure of Sunny's guilt, I realize it may have gotten bigger because he felt that he had the opportunity to save Basil and never did, making him feel guilty for leaving him alone like that when he needed someone the most.
Neutral Ending is way too underrated for all the bittersweetness in it, so I'm really glad that you made this beautiful animatic to show all of the struggles and emotions Basil, Sunny, and the rest of the gang went through. I especially love the symbolism of the hole in Basil's stomach that he closes up to hide the truth until his pain finally overwhelms him and opens the wound back up again
It's so nice to see animatics based on the Neutral ending! It's probably my first time seeing one's of that and I absolutely love your artstyle and animation! Keep up the great work!

This was so so soooo wonderful! I loved all of the animations here, every single frame is significant! My personal favorite part was at 1:43, the transition was absolutely genius! Not many people decide to animate/draw this ending in particular, probably because it’s so depressing! You did an amazing job with this, I’m excited to see all of your other works! :)

basil knew how to tie up a noose because mari teached him how to make a flower crown which is very uncomfortable

Fun fact, 1:43 is a special number in Omori. 143 means "I love you". 143 is the damage you take if you attack something 10 times. Mari loves Sunny.
