- Take a look at each of the original UP heritage units as they aren't only in the consist of trains, but leading each and every one of them.
This compilation of videos was taken over the course of a couple of years between 2017 and 2019 on my quest to capture each unit leading its own train.
This is not all of the Union Pacific Heritage fleet, but they are the original 6 SD70ACe's that pay tribute to railroads long gone.
Each one in order with location:
CNW UP1995: 00:07 (Willamette Valley)
MKT UP1988: 01:23 (Willamette Valley/ Lookout Reservoir)
MoPac UP1982: 02:52 (Willamette Valley)
Western Pacific UP1983: 04:17 (Willamette Valley)
Rio Grande UP1989: 05:33 (Oregon City)
Southern Pacific UP1996: 06:47 (Pengra Pass)
All footage taken from a DJI Phantom 4 Pro and Mavic Pro.

THIS is why you are THE MASTER!
Seriously epic work. And I hate you for reminding me what I left behind!
That SP shot at 7:05 just took my breath away. Fan-freaking-tastic man!
I guess at least you can still look upon it! I remember I was ecstatic when I got the SP unit there.
Amazing compilation. Great shots of all the heritage units.
Josh Rides the Rails The engine in your profile picture I once saw!
Excellent 8:30 minute spend of time on youtube. Thanks Dan.
It's iconic how all of them were leading!
It's always neat when you get to see a heritage unit! I'm out here in Pennsylvania trying to see all of the Norfolk Southern heritage units.
Any luck?
@@ohioandnortheastern Yes, I've seen all 20 now! 😀
@@DavidLauback nice. I only caught 8101
@@ohioandnortheastern This video inspired me to try to get drone shots of all 20 NS heritage units leading trains. If I can accomplish that I'll put the video on my channel!
That was a terrific coverage.... Wow.... Great stability visuals.... Love it sharing on my community tab
Thanks a lot for sharing!
Dan is the best railroad videographer of our time. It’s such a pleasure to see his work! What an uplifting video!! You certainly capture the emotion and drama like no one else could!
OUTSTANDING!!!!!!
Great stuff! I’ve managed to catch all six of these units this year already!
Dude, where was that waterfall at?? That was an incredible shot!
Noisy Creek along Pengra Pass which is South of Oakridge Oregon. That section of railroad is pretty intense.
Railfan Dan looks like it. Very cool, thanks for the info!

Be specific, " ship it on the union Pacific"
Don't you forget it👍
I worked for the Rio Grande but it's my least favorite of all of those, it should have been Black! Fantastic video once again!
ive seen the katy and the western pacific in houston texas
Great Video 🇮🇳
Very cool with the UP heritages, just subscribed
Another awesome video. Dan, could you put together some clips of outtakes, bloopers and crashes if any, which I doubt, to make an amateur like me feel better.
I still have really bad close calls to this day. Had an extremely close one the other day with powerlines. Maybe one day I'll make something like that.
My first heritage unit was 1995, the first unit in this video was 1995. My second unit was 1988, the second unit in this video also is 1988. My third time seeing a heritage unit was 1982, the third unit on this video is 1982... coincidence... *i think not*
Amazing stuff! You're seriously about to sell me on a drone for my train vids.
I saw the a up heritage unit like ten mins ago! In the middle
excellent video, how many different states did you film in?
This is all in Oregon. To be specific it is all taken between Oregon City and Crescent Lake.
interesting, diverse landscape
super video bro
yes , epic !
Wow Nice Job Dan!!!
Have you been up to the Donner Pass yet?
Once VERY briefly. I need to give it a longer chance.
Can you do all the other UP heritage/supporters Units? Like UP 7400
I want to see those heritage units
The way the open terrain looks with farms, you might think it's in Ohio and not Oregon.
Did you know that the numbers of each heritage are similar to the year that the railroads they represent were bought by the Union Pacific?
Yep that's correct!
I Take Screenshots On TS2021 Of stuff like that on steam.
Union Pacific Heritage Units.
Avec cinq locomotives, ils font combien de kilomètres de long vos trains aux USA ? 🤔😳
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
