@@blaxican carol was the numbers person before Rachel. She is also a mathematician and very attractive. She has a very different personality than does Rachel which gave the show a different vibe. I would love to see her as a contestant on 8 of 10 cats does countdown. I hope her differences with channel 4 have subsided.
My guess would be that part of Rachel's skill is to be able to factor quickly not only the target, but the numbers around the target, and to quickly multiply various subsets of those factors.
It is always so weird when they can't get the easy ones, but manage to get the insanely difficult ones. For 695, there was a 10 there, so just do 8x8+3 for 67 --> 670 + 25

Rachel is scary good at this.
Nullifidian is scarier gooder though x)
I believe she's a Mathematics major
@@blaxican as was carol.
@@RossM3838 I don't know who Carol. This is my first time watching these Countdown videos, after watching "8 out of 10 cats does Countdown" videos.

For 205
25x9=225
(7+3)X2=20
225-20=205
It is always so weird when they can't get the easy ones, but manage to get the insanely difficult ones.
For 695, there was a 10 there, so just do 8x8+3 for 67 --> 670 + 25
For 695
8x8=64
64+3=67
67x10=670
670+25=695
3:40 Maybe a bit easier to spot is
8 x 8 = 64
64 + 3 = 67
67 × 10 = 670
670 + 25 = 695
for 205
25 x 7 = 175
+ 9 x 2 = 18 +
=193
+ 9 + 3 = 205
1st one I did, 9*7*3=189-9+25=205
My solution was (9)(25)=225-(3+7)(2)= 205
Oh I did:
9 + 9 =18
18 × (7 + 3) = 180
180 + 25 = 205
The way he did that first one confused me since you can just do 25*9=225
(7+3)*2=20
225-20=205
I did ((8x8)+3)*10 + 25 for 695
695. [10 + 8 ] 18 x 40 [ 5 x 8 ] = 720 - 25 = 695. Love this game.
@@ericstewart7269 You didn't use 3
@@MikeMouawad lol
I came up with the same but it took me 10 minutes XD
For 695
8-5=3
3x3=9
9x10=90
90x8=720
720-25=695
And this way even uses the numbers in the order of their appearance on the board, from right to left.
A couple more ways of doing the first numbers puzzle are:
25 + 9 + 7 = 41
3 + 2 = 5
41 x 5 = 205
9 + 9 = 18
7 + 3 = 10
18 x 10 = 180
180 + 25 = 205
Another way of doing the second is:
9 x 8 = 72
72 + 5 + 1 = 78
78 x 6 = 468
468 + 3 = 471
And an alternate solution for the third is:
10 + 8 = 18
18 x 8 x 5 = 720
720 - 25 = 695
Didnt use 3
Didnt use 9 in first method and didn’t use 2 in second method of first puzzle
@@wongpakyin4860 you don’t have to use all numbers, only rule about the math is it has to be the basic four operations
@@bradencarpenter6365 yeah I’m sorry about that, I was just starting to watch countdown that time.
9x25= 225
(7+3)*2= 20
225-20
for 205:
9/9 = 1 + 3 = 4 + 25 = 29
29 x 7 = 203 + 2 = 205
I did 9 x 25 = 225.
(7+3) x 2 = 20 and subtract
I did (25-3)*9 + 7
205. [ 25 + 9 + 7 ] = 41 x 5 [ 3 + 2 ] = 205.
5/8 = 0.625
0.625 + 25 = 25.625
25.625 * 3 = 76.875
76.875 + 10 = 86.875
86.875 * 8 = 695
MY 5TH BDAY
25 - 2 = 23
23 x 9 = 207
9 - 7 = 2
(207 - 2 = 205)
Last: 8*8 = 64
3+5 = 8
That 64 + That 8 = 72
72*10 = 720
and subtract the 25 you have left.
for 471:
9 x 6 = 54 + 5 = 59
59 x 8 = 472 - 1 = 471
471. [ 9 x 8 ] 72 + 6 = 78 x 6 [ 5 + 1 ] = 468 +3 = 471.

@@ericstewart7269 Eric my man I did it your way I like the way it came out it was cool
8 x 6 - 1 = 47

@@MikeMouawad was I supposed to?
You don't have to use all six numbers you just have to get to the number and he did it well I liked it it took me about 40 seconds
