Glad to see you supporting your kids by going to their sporting events. You are a hell of a dad. I always love seeing the updates to the tow truck. Great video, looking forward to the next.
I don't care if your trying to put roller skates on a donkey I'll watch you guys. This is my favorite channel because you don't even try to hide the mistakes and thats the best part being human. I really like Tom. I think he is a valuable asset to the Rat Pack. I hope he sticks around.
That little clip of Richard Dawkins @ 1:44 saying "And they'll probably go on evolving, but [...] we can't predict where that will go" was just perfect. Just like a car or truck build. 👍
Just make sure only one person is within the danger zone and controls at a time. I had a coworker squish off the end of two fingers by having someone else run the controls while his finger was between the die and metal. Caused every Iron worker in the company to be red tagged until we received "proper training"
I'm a 50+ year Mechanic! From what I've seen of Tom, He's a very Mechanic, Fabricator, welder, and general all around great help! Believe me I have seen a lot of so called help,,,, the only thing they were good at was making me more work! If he wanted to come to Lower Alabama I would happily give him a job with good pay working on mixer trucks and gravel trucks! I don't know if he knows any thing about big trucks, but it's ok he's got main thing , common since and a very good skill set ! Your very lucky to have him!
I like watching Tom as your assistant. We all loved Ben, and Shawn (Shaun?) was okay too, but Tom doesn't need supervision or to be told what to do. Hang on to him.
@Keinandrew3 Agreed! Graders is certainly coming into his own. Wild to witness him growing into a good man over all these years. All of the kids (let's not forget about Gracie - more than only the "boys") are the most *_prime_* examples of being raised right, mentored and encouraged by exemplary parents. ❤
I love the fact that you admit when you mess up. That's a sign of a real man. And the tow truck is awesome. And just getting better because you keep on improving it.
My favorite wrecker, no doubt! With everything you've done, your Dad is there with you with the biggest smile on his face! I'm always amazed with the upgrades and just wondering if you've ever thought of rear steering, and would you implement it in this build? Catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊
Full doors getting put back on… just about in time for Spring… really enjoy all Fab Rats videos and the exploits of the family, don’t have to care too much about what we’re going to get each episode find I enjoy it all.
DJI drones is hard to beat. Been flying one for years now. If it will work with smart controller it is worth the money. Deployment is quicker as the controller has screened. no need to attach a phone just link it to Hotspot on the phone. Hot spot not required but I prefer it.
Who else really loves Cooper's dry wit?? So laconic, and he knows a lot more than the camera-man usually knows! And he gets right in there, tight, with that camera!!
Great episode Paul!!! .. I like the details on fabrication .. I've been welding and bolting up stuff like this since I was a boy on the farm! :) .. But there's always stuff to learn!!
Just a heads up, that Barb fitting may be a one time use. We use them a lot in the diesel world. Putting hose clamps on causes the hose to tear and leak. Idk if it’s that style barb fitting you put on that case but this might explain why you struggled to try and remove it. Just looking out. I love this channel!!
Watching is very relaxing for me. Your channel gives me a chance to learn and laugh right along with you. So keep up your fun and keep the laughter. My health isn't great, but im working on it. I have some work i have to get done. Car, truck house lawn mower!! 😅 it will get done. Keep up the entertainment, and thanks again.
Two things at my repair/fab shop that are in constant use is the iron worker, the saw (which by the way is a Johnson that came over on the Mayflower), and the fork lift. They quit and my priorities change at what is getting fixed next. I gotta ask about the Miller 255 you had issues with. I made them take the one we had and trade it for a 252. We have 2 of the 252's now and are pretty good little welders. Those 255's were junk.
Paul, I love the shear, brake, punch, press machine! That’s quite the sophisticated fabrication tools. I used to work in a factory so I know how much fun it is to make parts!
Shade tree engineering wins the day! As a team Fab Rats builds some amazingly functional machines from rock crawlers, rescue trucks and highway cruisers! Mega Kudos to all you guys and gals!
That shear and punch press is Sweet!!!! Worked in a metal/Sheet metal shop when I was a kid before I became a machinist. Thats one Handy Machine to have around!!!
Happy to see your working on the Ratv Rod wreaker! I like it! Good to see the boys playing basketball ball! Fun sport pur great grandsughterblve playing it! Good to support them by being there. ❤
The way I forced myself to wear safety glasses was hanging them on the power switch for the lathe and mill. I made a hanger that made me have to move the glasses to turn them on. As long as I remember to put them back when I turn them off, it works every time lol
I've been in eye casualty at least 5 times. Having debris scraped out of the surface of your eye with a large hyperdermic needle makes you consider safety glasses. Also, the surface of my eyes are so scarred I get dry eye (the tear film doesn't like the eye surface due to the scars) and I can never wear contacts. Having an MRI was scary when they asked... "have you ever had metal in your eye?" "Yes! Well did they get it all out? You sure".
@@thebrowns5337. 😂 I have been in the same situation. Frantically trying to remember all the metal things that have stuck in me before that machine removes them.
It takes a few iterations to find the combination on each project that can hold up to Paul’s right foot! That is the entertainment is seeing if if works or becomes twice as nice because you build it twice
Good morning I am looking forward to seeing the first drive after all the changes to the FabRats tow truck. I definitely like how you try to keep the old school look of the tow truck
Pulling transmission after installing transmissions. Opening parts boxes. Change a tire or two. Pull a transmission open a box put in a transmission open a box. I guess I have seen it too many times to find it enjoyable
Tim is your right hand guy from here on out for a long time and cooper fit himself right in like it’s almost hard to tell sometimes if it’s Cooper or Hunter
I love the sheer press (if that is what it is called) The little one for holes is really cool in itself. I even commented on TomToms about getting one like that along with his drill press ✓
Probably time for the transmission to need rebuilt or replaced.... Seriously though, I really hope you are on the other side of that issue and it's pretty remarkable how you handled that, considering how easy it is to harness the dark side of the internet and put them on blast. I hope you were able to recoup some of the loss regardless if you ever elaborate on it or not. Character. Thanks for having it and being one!
Love watching your videos. Caution using brass fittings in aluminum base. This can lead to a serious problem. The zinc and the aluminum will eat out. I work in a marine environment so perhaps out in the desert country it's not an issue (?) I like SS fittings in conjunction with aluminum. No brass or copper on our aluminum work boat.
I believe in Tom! You can do it! He has been an awesome addition to the team
Could be another shirt in the Ratshack right beside Fart tight
Glad to see you supporting your kids by going to their sporting events. You are a hell of a dad. I always love seeing the updates to the tow truck. Great video, looking forward to the next.
Paul put the red lock tight on . That makes the percentage of it needing to come back off , more than 70% .
Give or take 11%
It also makes it fart tight.😂
I've always used the Red Loctite and never needed a torch to assist in bolt/nut removal. 🙃🤪
@@byronlabelle7569 It's 'sposed to need heat to loosen,,but fart twice first,,then you can unfart-tite it..

Actually watching someone try and put roller skates on a donkey would be amusing as all get out!
@@mahbriggs I bet it would lol.
@@mahbriggs new channel idea
I would definitely watch that
You got to go to Tijuana to see that.
Fabrats: They do it so nice I watch it twice.....
I believe in Tom!!💪
The evolution of the wrecker is pretty cool to watch from the beginning until now. Thing is a beast.

That iron worker is a GREAT addition to the shop!
That thing is awesome hours of time drilling and cutting saved

I love how all of your fleet is mostly built, not bought. That's what makes your channel unique keep it up Fabrats!
Thanks for the support! It's more fun to build something than buy it, right?
I just love your channel. You guys are the real deal and 100% genuine. Thats why I enjoy watching so much. Stay safe out there.
The new machine for cutting steel and punching holes is a great thing.

I doubt he be there long this channel has more employees leave than any other channel
