Marquis Du Lafayette has SEVERAL towns, roads, and probably benches named after him in the US. While I don't believe many Americans would know who he is if asked, he has(historically) been held in a position of gratitude and respect. His lobbying of France on behalf of the Colonies was instrumental in the revolution being won at all.
Please react to some more DougDoug, he has easily become my favorite content creators, there is seriously nothing else like his content. He's so good as an entertainer, that I'll go back and watch entire VODs of streams even from years ago, his stream VOD channel gets hundreds of thousands of views on 4+ hour videos. Not just him but the chat is the funniest chat ive seen on twitch, and its not just children spamming nonsense, its mainly young adults and adults who come up with actually funny messages and even if it may seem like it, his chat is surprisingly non-toxic, like yes they give him shit for moments bc thats funny, but they are also the biggest wholesome chat ive ever seen. And nobody truly has the chat interaction that Doug has, he is truly in a lane of his own. With a few copycats but still nobody can run a stream quite like him

Damn bro, you forgot my name?! Interesting fact: Lafayette came back 50ish years later with his son named after George Washington. He got a welcome rivaling huge Super Bowl/World Series parades everywhere.
They traveled over 6000 miles, that’s why there are so many places in the US called Lafayette, Fayetteville, etc.

On the crossing of the Delaware not being strategic it very much was. He crossed an easily dependable line guarded by fresh prushian troops by travelling on Christmas night taking them by surprise and capturing the troops,their position, and supplies. While taking few casualties. All in all a very smart strategy.
