i know how hard this song is to play accurately.. ive been trying all day.. believe me: this is super impressive! badass cover!
Damn this looks hard
Killing it !!!
Good job! Best one ive seen 🤘
Excellent! You get a really devastating sound out of that Tele. It looks like the pickup is placed in the middle rather than the bridge or neck. Or is that just me???
Yea its probably just you... :) kidding, true this guitar doesnt have a neck pickup, its a signature baritone guitar by stephen carpenter, check LTD SCT 607B
Haha cool. It sounds really good
Amazing!
Wow!! So brutal! Awesome cover! Try deviloof
Awesome! \m/
My favorite Sam in the whole universe

nice cover man. I have the same guitar. Was thinking about putting in fishman's but it'll be awhile before i do that lol. I've been trying to figure out The Final Curtain from that album, can you do a cover of that song? I know Fire in the sky, thats about it lol
Hey man, if you change your pickups let me know, sounds interesting. I bought this guitar for its design really, I wanted a 7 string Tele. I don't even get a "good" sound out of it. I dont know why. Sounds somehow muddy all the time, not crisp, but I mean... it's a signature guitar, that's how it's supposed to sound right!? Anyway about "the final curtain", I will deeply consider it, but it's one of the more ambient "slow" songs, which I don't really see myself do a cover of. Those kinds songs don't really appeal to me, !playing-wise!. Thy art is more of a listening experience to me, where some parts just can get boring if you play em yourself, especially if it gets slowish and ambientish and basically nothing's happening. Let's take "fire in the sky" for that matter. The last minute basically nothing's happening, if it makes sense. It's just repeated slow and boring (to play) chugs. For me, I'd be just not worth the effort to put in the time to figure it out and make a video on it. Except I do a full band cover, which is not gonna happen^^ Anyway I LOVE Thy Art, and if it's gonna be slow and ambient, then I'll let them keep it to themselvesend enjoy it :) Thx for subbing dude, and keep letting me know If you want or need me to do a cover, even if you really! want 'the final 'curtain'!!
yeah i'm not much of a 'lead' guy i just like to jam rhythm riffs i guess haha. I'm more of a 6 string guy i'm brand new to this whole 7 string baritone game and i know i'll never play it to it's full potential, but neither does stephen carpenter as far as shred goes. I use a peavey 6505+ through a 2x12 orange cab but I agree it does sound "muddy", especially the 1st pickup position. Thanks for the videos I'll be checking out your channel. If you have any favorites in Drop A let me know
That is so clean dude. I have a question. I've been trying to learn this song for quite a while, but I always struggle with string skipping during the first (main) riff, especially this little part 0:11. Are you using pickslating or is just muscle memory? your playing looks so clean and its kinda mind-blowing how easy its seems to you. Cheers bud.
Hey Dskay, sorry for this late reply and thanks for your comment!!! About your question… Pickslanting and muscle memory don‘t oppose or exclude each other… they cannot be compared… pickslanting ist just a way to hold your pick and muscle memory is a way for your body to remember how to do stuff (which still happens in your brain). Anyway, no matter the technique you‘re using, pickslanting, tapping, sweeping etc… your body will still develop muscle memory after many repetitions… so the question is kind of not applicable or answerable… I‘m just playing regularly and practice a ton… muscle memory will inevitably kick in, no matter the position of the pick… If something is too fast, just practice slowly,… half the speed, quarter the speed whatever… if you got it down half the speed, continue playing like that until you think „this is too easy“ and then you still continue playing half the speed… If you‘ve ever heard someone say „practice slowly“, that is what they mean… the slower you practice, the faster you learn ;) I (consciously) use pickslanting, when I‘m playing very fast lead stuff, although you can slant your pick whenever you like but I‘ve seen it mostly used with very! fast solo/lead passages. I hope this makes sense!!! Have a good one!!
@@SamShredits thanks man, that was very helpful!
