I love ELAINE!!! Her shoves are the best. Now I don't know about the rest of the world, but being born and raised in NYC (The Bronx during 70's & 80s) we used to do these shoves all the time whenever we were told some shocking news/gossip...etc. One of my friends was one of the first in our group/club whatever ... to get an NES and when he told us (I remembered we were going up in an elevator) we were like "NO WAY!" and we took turns shoving him against the wall and called him lucky. He was just laughing... this was perfectly normal. And these shoves were done by everybody , constantly! Even the girls did it too. The funny thing is, only good friends did it to each other, it was actually a physical (but funny way) to show appreciation to your true friends to the news/info that had just been given to you.

Fun fact: The shove wasn’t scripted. The viewers loved it so much that the show decided to add that to Elaine’s character
Another fun fact: the viewers loved the way Jerry said "helllloooo Newman" they added it in future scripts.
I always loved it when Elaine would do that. But Bizzaro Jerry and his friends were not too crazy about it.
