Then there’s people barricades but those are expensive. People don’t realize that anything that keeps people out, will also prevent wildlife from moving through, and block water/wind/etc. People also don’t realize that you can’t build anything smack dab on the boundaries. Congress is for sure the core of government as the Constitution grants all powers of active governance within the Capitol walls. Congress is not “more important” but it’s got the most power to do either good or harm. Hence that body is the only one with internal as well as external checks.
