I just started a chain on the same place as you. I didn't really mind which Pokemon would appear. A Pachirisu appeared. I got the shiny grass patch on the 3rd encounter within this chain.

You also need to complete the Sinnoh Pokedex along with being Champion for getting the PokeRadar, since he wasn't sure at the time if you had to complete it or not.
I've been trying to get shiny Mareep in the spot for about 10 hours now. So many broken chains. While restarting my chain, I got a random shiny patch and it was Pachirisu!
Edit: I finally got a chain to 39. Then I got 5 shiny Mareep :D

After getting my shiny starter on my second day, I made it up to the valley windworks and found a random shiny bidoof. Moral of the story: I think I know what happened to other peoples shiny luck with the starters

I got a shiny koctowl today from my first change !!! Straight up turned on the Pokémon radar and there was a shiny spawn first chain I think that’s like 1 out of 4600
That’s so dumb! Why is there a chance the chain breaks for No Reason??? If the Pokémon runs or if you close the game, fair enough, but for no reason? If I got to 39 and the chain broke, I’d quit for life! That is So Stupid!!!

I keep trying to chain for shiny mareep but it just... keeps failing LMAO I'm getting really disappointed! I've managed wurmple twice, shinx, pachirisu twice, ralts.... but not Mareep. It sometimes fails after the first mareep!

I think the yellow sparkles mean a shiny. About four days ago I saw somebody get a shiny from a patch with yellow sparkles, so I presumed that it was a guaranteed shiny in that patch lol.

Just a tip if you want better stats you should get to 39 then keep reseting the odds are 1 in 200 but its four patches so technically its 1 in 50

Fun tip, deregister everything that isn’t the radar. I had a 40 chain that I had spent an hour just resetting the radar on, accidentally hit the bike and it’s gone. Rest In Peace.
Decided to just do a quick chain before I did some school work and got to a 12 chain and was gonna turn off the switch and a shiny nidoran pops up on the 13th 🤯
Legit just got my pokeradar yesterday in total of 4 hours trying the longest chain I’ve had is 29 😭 it’s rough out here
Have you checked the IVs and natures on those Pachis? You may have a competitive one.

I also got a shiny hidden ability patch when I chained Chatot. I was so lucky since it's ultra rare. Chaining in that area is pretty hard since it's so small.
So he got 2 shiny patches....what happened there? Suddenly hes encountering normal Pachis? Then he freaks out over the single shiny later. Im just confused here.

If you get to a chain of say... 30 would you be able to save your game in that moment and advance from that part of the chain upon reset? Or does the reset someone affect the previously saved state of the chain?
Turning off the game breaks the chain. A lot of things break it, even just getting on your bike.
This gives me hope, im hunting pachirisu now

I got 5 shiny pachirisu when I hunted her. Specifically that rare hidden ability shiny one. Ended up with 5 before accidentally picking my bike and breaking my own chain. :(
