We were once stuck on the Amity Sand Banks off Straddie, went in on a king tide . The Islanders were fantastic and the trawlers would come and check us out through the night to see if I wanted off being the only female on board the Yacht. We were pulled into the deep on the 7 th night by a 200ft craft . That nearly killed us all . Skipper went over the side . It was a very rough night ,in more ways than one . Oh the Adventures!!😂😂 the fun didn’t stop there either ! ❤ Aren’t Queenslanders lucky ?

I must have paddled across over 200 times until I bought a jet ski :)

Yep. I even paddled across from Southport once. Paddling back was a bitch.

Plenty of times. Had a mate who once sat on TOS for about 3hrs once after he saw what he believed to be a great white cruise past and he was an experienced diver and had seen a few bities in his time and he wasn’t in a hurry to paddle back over. On a weekday out of holiday season it is the best place around that area to surf hands down.

Hey was charging heaps of waves that day and he definitely took a few beatings in the process. I went out and got a few and it was a heavy day. Respect to those who pulled in.

@@rawsurfing yeah it looked like he was held up on the drop a bit. Straddie's a beast when she's like that, so many over the falls and snapped boards.
