Thank you for making this video. Its nice to hear someone talk about how they dealt with not getting the results they wanted and how to come back from it. Its also nice to hear about success in the UCAT without feeling the need to get a top 1% score :).
Ok so I needed to comment because I am applying for GEM too, I sat the UCAT last year and gave myself a weeks prep and honestly came out with 2340 and a 2 in situational judgement then applied and got my 4 rejections I am so hopeful this year I will do better! Love that you have made this video it's fab motivation!
I have my test on friday and i'm shitting bricks, thank you for being so truthful and down to earth. I'm trying not to panic too much but you've defo helped me calm myself down xx
@@tomibalogun2405 I ended up getting 2340 which I'm really disappointed about but I tried my hardest and studied flat out so not much else I could've done
This has motivated me so much. My exam is next week, i am also a graduate, from newcastle uni, applying to a mix of undergrad and GEM courses. Congrats on your offers!
I’ve got my exam in a week, and I’ve been getting the most random scores. Sometimes I get 700, sometimes 500. I’ve done 4 mocks and the highest scores I’ve got is 2500. But I need 2610 to get into Manchester. Is it even possible to improve 110 in like a week??
If you’ve been able to get 700 then it’s possible on the day! Just keep going and be consistent in this last week. Do as many full 2 hour mocks as you can so you are fully used to the timing. I also think maybe try and pick out question types you are always getting wrong and try and figure out why/what the equation is and then just practice those type of questions until you can’t get them wrong (hope that makes sense). Good luck for your test day, you got this! Xxx
heyy ! i loved this video, Im sitting the UCAT this year and was wondering if you could give more tips on how you scheduled your time? I still have around 4.5 months left :)
I want to apply to graduate entry but know it is very limiting, so will apply to undergrad too but believe if it’s our second undergrad we need to fund it ourselves?😫
I really want to do medicine but I didn't do any extra subjects and didn't score well in my ATAR I did complete a diploma but it was in music. Should I study more before doing the UCAT like do a bachelor in something or should I just study for the UCAT and try it right off the bat? I'm trying to become a psychiatrist so I'm not really sure how to approach this >-
Hi, so my ucat is in a few days- and I am really struggling with time as often do not always finish all the questions in the given though the ones I did are correct. Will this heavily affect my score and do you have to finish all the questions during the time to get a good score? (BTW to anyone doing the ucat-goodluck ;D)
I think you are better off flagging questions you get stuck on and coming back to them at the end if you have time! The way to get higher UCAT scores is to know when it’s better to just guess the answer because the question isn’t worth the time it takes if that makes sense. For example, in Verbal reasoning it’s better to just flag the questions with really long paragraphs and guess the answer at the end if you have time. So basically don’t worry about getting every question right it’s about getting the easy ones right and guessing the hard ones well
Hi - last year you needed at-least a C in A level chemistry. I think it might have changed to no requirements this year but double check on their website!
i think my biggest tip for decision making is to flag and skip the questions that are going to be really time consuming. I also did a LOT of mocks for descision making and eventually got used to the question types so they became very famililar and it helped me relax. Also make use of the whiteboard/notepad!
Honesty I found it pretty similar - if not harder. But you need to factor in your nerves on the day and the fact you might be in unfamiliar surroundings
I did mine yesterday and ngl it was not bad but I didn’t do well in my ucat so overall form my experience it isn’t that worth the money but u should still try it

Lydia Martin thanks so much!!
why do you need 2610 for manchester and what course do you want to do?
Adrija Petronyte I want to medicine and that’s the cut off point on average. (Although they do accept a few below the cut off)
Mary Ali how did you end up doing? What was your UCAT score of you don’t mind me asking?
thank you so much for this, God Bless truly. Congratulations for your success! you're so pretty btw xx
Awww thank you so much 💖💖💖
Really good score welldone!
This video was so beneficial! Fully convinced me to not reschedule
Ahh glad it did! Good luck 😁😁😁
Lydia Martin thank you 😊
Well Done!
My first UCAT score was similar to your first UCAT score (Sat mine in 2018 this would be my third year sitting it aha!)
how did it go??
This is really helpful! Thanks!!
heyy ! i loved this video, Im sitting the UCAT this year and was wondering if you could give more tips on how you scheduled your time? I still have around 4.5 months left :)
I just did my first medify mini mock for AR and got 670- I have 2 weeks until my test- im panicking!
670 is great !! Especially for a first mock !! Do not worry at all just keep practicing and stay focused xx
mines on monday 😬
amalie Good Luck!!! Just uploaded a vid on my tips for the test day 😘😘
Do you think any section is harder than the actual practice tests?
I personally found quantitative reasoning easier on the day compared to medify but then that could have just been a fluke x
@@LydiaMartinMedic Ok thank you

Yeah unfortunately you do have to self-fund the tuition fees... I’ve made a video about how I’m funding it so that might give you some ideas. x

Hi, just to clarify that you applied two courses at Southampton; undergraduate and post graduate?
Hi, so my ucat is in a few days- and I am really struggling with time as often do not always finish all the questions in the given though the ones I did are correct. Nice video
Does Southampton require A-level grades for graduate medicine?
Hi - last year you needed at-least a C in A level chemistry. I think it might have changed to no requirements this year but double check on their website!
Really useful thanks so much. Do you think 10 a stars in gcse would strengthen oxbridge application?
Defo!
No it would put you at a huge disadvantage... Of course it would 😂
can you share tips on how you got better at decision making
i think my biggest tip for decision making is to flag and skip the questions that are going to be really time consuming. I also did a LOT of mocks for descision making and eventually got used to the question types so they became very famililar and it helped me relax. Also make use of the whiteboard/notepad!
So the book is recommended?
Yes defo! X
How similar is medify to the actual test?
Honesty I found it pretty similar - if not harder. But you need to factor in your nerves on the day and the fact you might be in unfamiliar surroundings
I did mine yesterday and ngl it was not bad but I didn’t do well in my ucat so overall form my experience it isn’t that worth the money but u should still try it
Banana Mana i had mine last week and ngl I thought medify was way too easy compared to my actual ucat
Are you selling that blue UCAT book ?
Sadly I have already given it away x
@@LydiaMartinMedic no worries
What questions do they ask for interviews ? Also I can't wait for your uni vlogs
IKOk ahhh me too I’m so excited! I was going to make a video all about the interview next month so stay tuned
Warwick do medicine??
