If Bhutan cannot then India, on behalf of Bhutan, must tell China in no uncertain term that NOT AN INCH of Bhutanese territory will be ceded to China. Bhutan is a buffer state and should remain so.
Its not a buffer state , Bhutan is an independent country with their own identity and freedom loving people with dreams like all of us . They are our brothers and sisters and we will screw china step by step and free tibet too . Which will be the state to separate India and Han china
Sadly, Bhutan ultimately has no option but to join India. If not in a merger as a Union Territory then as a full state with full protections of property etc. Not sure how we could handle the Royalty but some answer has to be found. Otherwise, Bhutan will be swallowed up by China bit by bit. Also, it is painful to see India sit by and watch this salami slicing. We need to do some of our own, suddenly building villages in Tibetan territory and claiming ancient connection. Our history is older than China's if it comes to that. In fact we can claim China itself given that it's main religion is Indian.
So long India does not recognize Independent Tibet, India will lose land Bhutan will lose land and Nepal will lose land. They will grab land inch by inch month by month and year by year. The very reason why they grab land is that India now recognize Tibet as part of China and Thats why they are right on the Indo Tibet border to do anything they want to do.
Thanks Nitin for getting Arpi to talk on Bhutan China issue. Bhutan should think through this issue. Either it can surrender as per Chinese wish or it can ask India for a special status (like in case of original version of Art 370) whereby Bhutan is merged with India but maintains its full autonomy including currency etc but India becomes responsible for its border defenses, as if it is Indian territory. It can also ask USA to defend it against the Chinese, if USA is ready for it and India agrees. But on its own, Bhutan can do very little to stop Chinese ingress. USA is now free from Afghanistan and it will be looking to take on China in future. Taiwan is the next hot issue. If Russia could take back Crimea under European and American noses, why not China attack Taiwan and take it back? So China would like to challenge USA on Taiwan issue and if it falls, then USA will be directly exposed to the potential Chinese attack in the Pacific. So USA also need another anchor against China and Bhutan can be such anchor to engage with China. India can explore if some island in Andaman can be leased to USA just like Myanmar has allowed Sittwe to China.
India should walk the walk by telling the Chinese that they are standing on an occupied Tibet and than nibbling other countries land, secondly reject the one China Policy. If there is the Free Tibet as buffer zone, which was for centuries, India, Nepal and Bhutan will have no headache from China. Choice is YOURS!
@@Bhoetuk India cannot do it alone and needs help of principally, USA to do this. Unless USA commits itself to support Tibet cause formally, (which can happen if Hong Kong is absorbed by China or there is attack on Taiwan etc.), India cannot take that risk.
I agree India and America need to start some sort of containment policy to keep China from invading it's neighbors. Japan, S. Korea, Philippines, Australia, should also be involved.

India is not able to protect delhi borders forget it’s international borders ( most of them are under other’s occupation with false lines like LOC and LAC) . And helping it’s friends!!!! Hahaha
