Tone all comes from the hands , that's why different people get different sounds from the same instrument. Emmons sounded the same on all the steels he played over the years .....except for maybe the weird Sierra when it sounded very metallic.
Koa is being used gradually over the several last years; Ovation also has some models and I own a Lanikai ukelele. First time I see it on a Pedal Steel Guitar and Koa, along with the mother-of-pearls inlay looks beautiful
Even though that man seems quite experienced on the Pedal Steel Guitar, and his intention is noble, I think I should say something: There's no such thing as "redneck", related to the E9th neck. As everybody knows, the E9th is mainly used for the Nashville sound while the C6th is for Country&Western, Swing and Jazz sound. I believe I never heard of the "redneck" and I don't think he could show up any evidence of it (e.g.: written on PSG documentation, bulletins, forums, instructional books and the like. That might be a "funny or crazy" denomination within his circle though, in my humble opinion, it is a derogatory comment.

Senang dengan alat musik ini suara bagus, dimana bisa dapatkan pedal still guitar.
Nice high end on that steel. Unfortunately, by the time you can afford speakers with really good high end, you can't hear it anymore.

And I thought I heard "rent" because you pay your rent with that neck. I could see that being a thing....

Yeah, I have never heard the Front E9th neck called the "red neck" by any pedal steel player .
@@southpawpicker”Rent neck” makes a lot more sense to me
