I think Pep would’ve 100% preferred to keep Palmer at City to continue developing as a fringe first team player, who had a very very good chance of eventually being a staple in City’s best XI, but the dilemma was, it wouldn’t of been for another couple of years. Palmer has shown after only 8 games in the starting 11 for Chelsea, that he has the ability to be starting for ANY team tbh. He’s already so damn good, and he’s got sky high confidence (borderline arrogance) which is making his incredibly young age a non factor. He got thrusted into the struggling Chelsea starting 11, and in 8 starts he’s racked up 4 goals and 4 assists. Doesn’t matter that the goals were penalties, as it shows his outrageous poise and composure for a 21 year old, and he’s slotted 3 of those 4 penalties against Arsenal, Tottenham and Man City.
