If you can sail across the Atlantic ocean with it you can go just about anywhere in the world assuming supplied with enough fresh water and food Am I wrong?
I'd disagree with the prone to breaking, yes the protos with their aerofoil designs way have more points of failure, but the standard series I don't imagine will require any more real maintenance than any other similarly sized GRP boat (again, high end carbon fiber may be different). The only major cost over a standard cruiser would be sails as the mini 650s tend to have sails to suit a much larger boat. But yes for cruising there would be more comfortable options.
