Pumping Effect is the exact expression I have been thinking of when describing swing delayed punch! There is also what I call the "Grinding Effect" which you can find in something like "Chris Raven-I know you love me too (van Bellen Remix)", although I think I am the only one who calls it that :))
Jon, I been binging your videos again since last night. I last went thru your videos when I picked up pigments. Not only did you introduce me to this amazing synths potential, but I have learned so much in just two days. I liked your idea of dissecting their presets, I watched you do that while I was at the gym today. Its a good way to learn how to get crazy with this thing. I decided to grab the 5 expansions from PB. I was hoping for an affiliate link to pluginboutique to help support. So far I got the cyberpunk expansion, im not sure what other ones to get. I want ones that have more than just presets, since I wouldn't likely use them. So stuff with lots of arp presets, wavetables, oscillators, drum sequences, etc. Any suggestions would be awesome. Cyberpunk is right up my alley for the type of music I mostly make, although I do dip into the ambient and synthwave stuff too. Thanks again. Sorry for the long message😂 but this is the most excited I been about a synth since phaseplant (which I love, its been my goto synth for a while, its just that everything this does is alot of what I was always trying to do with phaseplant)
thats awesome to hear!! yeah man dissecting patches is one of my favorite ways to learn new tricks and techniques. the cyberpunk expansions are both really good. Since you also mentioned synthwave, all 4 synthwave expansions are really good too. not sure if you know but for each expansion on their official youtube page they put together an entire track showing off lots of the presets that come with the expansion, also bartek goes through lots of patches individually in other videos on their channel too.
I love both of those synths dearly but as far as features and sound goes, I'd have to say avenger wins hands down. Some of the stuff it can do its just wild, a couple cool things are, you have 8 oscillators, each osc has its own unison, as well as additional voices that can be panned tuned and volume, also you get a sub oscillator. You have 8 arps, so you could route all 8 oscs to 8 individual arps. Those arps also have 4 patterns each in them You have 8 step sequencers, 8 mod envelopes, a full drum section/machine The effects are also stunning and you got lots of them. I could write a novel of all the features avenger gives you. Both are amazing synthesizers. I see avenger more than just a synth, it's a workstation
Why would you be playing the bass in a range where it affects the kick? You could always multiband sc away the low-end of the bass anyway if phase is really an issue.
Naw I haven't completely abandoned anything, currently on the channel is around 150 pigments videos. I'm just following wherever my heart leads me, and currently that's avenger. Pigments stuff will absolutely return when the time is right. It wouldn't be right to make pigments stuff just for the sake of making pigments stuff ya know?
@wratchet27 You could of course challenge yourself and replicate this patch in Pigments (or any other synth). It’s even more valuable, in my opinion. Not trying to be mister “I know better “, just my approach.
Many cool ideas. Such a big lift when you added some octave steps to the arp. Great.
Hell yeah!! Adding a few octaves here and there can make the patch really hit nicely
Classic EBM bassline!
Hell yeah!!
Yes, I also learned to produce that bass after several of Your vids, agreed ❤
Hell yeah!! It's such a satisfying patch
This plug - in looks sick
It's an amazing plugin!

It's def a cool effect, especially controlled via a macro so you can define different strengths as the track progresses
@@jonaudio indeed, reusability is a valuable aspect of dev, music and life

My man!
Cool patch 👍
Thanks dude!

nice one 👍

Hey, how does vps avenger 2 stack up against arturia pigments 5, since I already own the latter one but saw that avenger 2 is on sale?

@@jonaudio Thanks, appreciate the reply!
are these filters and eqs linear bc when the phase is in sync with the kick it will causes
phase issues

Not sure if they are linear or not, with a patch like this I like how it sounds and not too worried about phase issues here
"dat bass though"
I almost named it exactly that lol
Started to sound like Peter Schilling there for a bit😊 👊👍
its good to see you again dude!
@@jonaudio Thanks man, likewise! Hope all is well by you!
So I guess you've totally abandoned the Pigments as every post is now ONLY about the Avenger 2...
