I don't know why it's a taboo in India to discuss stuff with your husband, it's considered as bitching and all that girl want is to vent out. It is very easy at husband's part to tell ki adjust krna hota h, Husbands can never hear a word against themselves or their parents but would advice wife to understand and adjust. Also disrespect in any relation is a big no. Being a bahu doesn't make you less human.
This podcast is sort of part of your personal space one! Really its imp in EVERY relationship and not just couples thing; thats what I gotta understand. Beautiful podcast, every couple should listen it sath mein! Very much needed.
I just love how Gauram Sir manages to be a good son good husband good big brother and good father..and how he is standing for living in joint family and practising the same very well
At some ages of life perception towards life and relationship keeps changing and you then let it go with all satisfaction and big heart, still be happy. That's what is needed in every relationship. Let everyone live their life in their own way but discuss loved ones opinions that can help out to make it wasy to face such situations. Everytime victory does not make us happy but letting yourself lost to someone makes. Keeping those words in mind 'forgive and forget'. Do not sleep with heavy heart. Meditaion can help to think in such a way.

seeing gautam makes me feel like no matter how hardworking or understanding or good daughter in law a wife is....if husband is not like gautam who is mature n understand needs of both wife n family n make them priority ....then its very difficult for wife to survive with in laws

I don’t think I have ever seen someone speak so clearly and in a balanced way about the equality with in laws. It is a really sensitive issue in many households and is usually perceived as a complete Black or White situation. But to understand and to clearly speak about the good and the bad, while recognising your own self is commendable. When people say you lucked out, the fact that all the parties work to make a household smooth is missed. Good job on that Smriti, loved this podcast ❤

This was a good podcast, I have been into psychology and religious philosophy. I can vouch for Smriti's comment that when you live together, you must have a big and forgiving heart. In today's world, where toxic feminity is breaking homes, this comes as a breather. As Hindus, one should realize how important it is to carry one's traditions and culture. Also, getting connected to religious philosophy (karma theory, spirituality) is very important for having good relations with everyone around. We always had a family-oriented system where family comes first, but now people have replaced it with self-interest first, and they have no idea how this negatively impacts children.
I like Gautam more and more , down to earth, grounded,smriti toh we love only for her real and spontaneous nature❤ but Gautam is a gem

I have a question
What if the girl somewhere knows that her partners mom isn't that good by nature but they both are in love nd wants to get married but her parents aren't allowing bcz of his parents...what should she do????
If girl already knows that partner's parents or any one parent is not good, then she should not marry. That parent might turn her life into hell and after a point the partner might just change entirely and stop understanding the girl or taking any stand for the girl or even start abusing or blaming her.
It's very very important for the guys parents to be good human beings!!

It's the man's job to balance between wife and his parents if they're living together. It shows after listening to Smriti that Gautam knows how to create that balance which a lot of men fail to do and bridge that gap
