As a network controller - nothing is worst than having points fail at Moss Vale, especially when you have the XPT and an 1000m+ freight train with no down refuge.
    Love Main South A.

Will, thank you again for another great video of trains in the Southern Highlands. As you said a very scenic part of NSW, and as a bonus has lots of trains.
The video was, as usual, of a very high standard, and you certainly captured lots of interesting trains. It is a pity the weather did not co-operate for you.
Thank you for sharing, and stay safe, Michael

Mate, regardless of the conditions that was, for me, the best ever! I had such a significant part of my life there, I can't do justice to express it. I do like all the your work but this ... This was really special for me. Thank you.
    Soooo much.

A very enjoyable video , Will. It's a beautiful and interesting part of Australia and I liked the brief history at the start. It felt like a documentary which I would happily sit through for a much longer video ! Love the drone shots as always. They really give a great view of areas such as the cement works that shots from the ground cannot convey.

Some nice locations in that area, do like Exeter Station how it a good spot on the curve, Bundanoon could easy mistake that for a GWR pregrouping Station but another nice looking Station.

Really nice work in the rain there.
The reason why you see so many aggregate trains there is because the Greater Sydney area lies entirely on sandstone and has to import all its aggregate. There is a former quarry railside at Bombo (Kiama) that used to supply aggregate to Sydney; Marulan has now taken up that role.

Plenty of trains and a fair bit to look at along the way! Shame about the rain, but it seems like you still enjoyed yourself. Had similar issues with the weather last year when I planned to visit. Oh well, will have to get there one day.
    Thanks for sharing!

Pity about the weather, Will, but great video anyway. The Short South between Mittagong and Bundanoon was a favourite haunt of mine over 30 years ago as I was friends with a Signaller in that area who has now moved on.
Back then Double Line Block Telegraph working was in force over parts of the line and I have had the privilege of working Exeter Box (under supervision, of course, as the rules up there are a bit different to down in Victoria). In fact I was in Exeter Box at the time of the Newcastle earthquake and when communicating with the adjacent signalboxes, the poor bloke at Moss Vale was beside himself and thought the box was going to collapse under him.
I can recommend staying at the Bundanoon Hotel (if they still take accom. bookings) for a bit of olde world charm as well as being close to the rail action.
    Ooroo for now!🙂

thank you Will we really enjoyed this and hope you will be back for more. As others have said we could have watched even more. There is a lot of history around there especially for me around Bundanoon. You could do documentary's on many places but that takes more time. Keep up the great work.

@@WillJamesRailways it’s a great museum, I remember getting to explore around it once at night as part of the local tourism industry. They normally have the festival of steam mid May each year and this time a Victorian steam train visited

Great video, Will. Shame about the rain. Exeter is a unique station, cool on a hot day, and nice grass to relax on inbetween trains , and the nearby cafe is great. I found out the station masters former house is a b&b now.
AND, it was great meeting you at Seymour Heritage Depot on Saturday . 😊
Keep up the excellent work, Will.
Still think you should be doing radio tv commercial voiceover work.
