    I AM OBSESSED WITH BELLA BAXTER. I think this is by far Emma’s best performance in her career. And the best female performance I have seen on screen in A LONG TIME. I cried, I laughed and felt so much love for her. I really hope Emma gets the recognition she deserves. IT IS THE PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR.

    This is a life-changing film, or it should be. I will not be surprised if many men are wounded deeply by it, and those who are need to be. I will be thinking of Bella for many years to come, and thanking her for her beautiful and brutal critique of our existence. What we do with it in a country where our bodily autonomy has been revoked remains to be seen.

    • @SCharlesDennicon
      @SCharlesDennicon 10 месяцев назад +3

      Why would men be "deeply wounded by it", what did they do to deserve it, and are you aware that abortion can involve a second "body"?

    • @ivanyarovoy7985

      Not sure about "deeply wounded' but as a man i could say that was a marvelous rollercoster and i freaking love it.
      I really glad to see such opinion because one of my thoughts after i left a movie theatre was "this film probably must felt really empowering for women", but still I don't think this brilliant movie should hurt anyone regardless of gender :)

    This is a story that engages you in the beginning and holds you in its grip until the very end. It's odd, quirky, funny, fantastical, and has all the elements of speculative fiction because of its political impact. Emma Stone was hands down phenomenal and most certainly will win an Oscar for her performance. The ending(goat/man) was somewhat predictable but most likely satisfying for all the women out there who have had relationships with men who want ultimate control in a relationship and/or treat women as property and not human beings.

    Antichrist and nymphomaniac volume 1 and 2 are way more controversial than this film by far! Dont be scared to see this film. Its about the predatory nature of men and how they do not wish women to grow and become self influenced and indulge in their joys by making them fearful of the World. bella realizes people are not all good and the majority of people who are kind to her in the film are women. 1 man gives her mercy and grace for simply being herself. It's a great commentary on autonomy.

      @davidlovesfilm Danielle was the standout though, right? Because she may end up being the lone nom and possibly winner for the film. I'm hearing she's the film's best hope to win at least 1 Oscar this time around.

    • @kandakeedits1546
      @kandakeedits1546 11 месяцев назад +2

      @davidlovesfilm Oh wow. That would be a stunner if Danielle doesn't win because I've heard from film critics who also viewed and several have said the Oscar is hers. DaVine is absolutely deserving but I wonder if the Academy may go with Danielle in order to avoid disappointing Oprah again. The original film was completely snubbed back in the 80s despite scoring many noms back then.

    • @kandakeedits1546
      @kandakeedits1546 11 месяцев назад

      @davidlovesfilm I agree, it would look desperate, indeed. However, to be fair to Danielle, she is a fantastic actress who has perfected this particular role and was nominated for a Tony for her portrayal of Sophia on Broadway. She could win on the merits of her performance alone, but I was only saying that in addition to her performance, she also has the narrative to potentially get her to the finish line. The Academy would likely not want the headline that this film went home empty-handed again. I strongly suspect that many phone calls are being made right now to industry insiders and Oprah is likely banking on stronger support from industry voters since the critics are clearly not in love with this film. We'll have to see if the industry ultimately wraps its arms around it despite underwhelming response from the critics groups.

    I thought the movie is incredibly ambitious and visually outstanding. The acting was excellent but I felt that the Director is gratuitously outrageous. i.e. How can I top myself in weirdness and challenge the audience's toleration of bizarreness. Even though the movie has some meaning about Bella's development as a woman, much of it seems superficially provocative. Over the top for Over the tops sake... IMO

    • @RBGRBGRBGRBG
      @RBGRBGRBGRBG 8 месяцев назад

      Too bad the Oscar’s were and always have been an exclusive club and have nothing to do with the public… you know that the public doesn’t vote for the Oscar’s right? Members of the Academy do. Visa vie, other people in the industry. It’s always been inside baseball and it always will be, the ones that win aren’t always the ones which are the ‘most popular’ with general audiences, in fact I’d say historically that’s pretty rare, movies that get nominated and win are always to an extent known if not widely known, but the ones *we* would vote for? That’s funny…
