I've only just discovered this channel and can't stop watching!. I love the way both you and Vicky deliver the content in a no nosense manner. Great stories and incredibly intetesting. Thank you both!
Cheers Alan 😊 We do try our best. Sometimes we will get things wrong, but we do research all the stories before setting off out, unless something crops up whilst we are already out and about (such as covering the story of Joe Meek when we were in London at the start of this year. We hadnt planned to cover it but it was an opportunity not to be missed).
@@Daysofhorror-vickie. You're both more than welcome. People who see your podcasts may not appreciate the amount of research and time you put into making these videos come to life for us. You both do a great job enabling us all to enjoy all thst you do.
New subscriber here from the US, and I just have to say I am very impressed with this channel! I love everything about it, but what really impresses me is the way the UK holds on to its history! To see the places, buildings, etc, where these crimes were committed, makes a huge impact for me. I don't think he was the ripper because the motives were so different. This man seemed to kill for financial gain, and of course, the ripper killed for what seemed to be a hatred for wayward women. I'm having fun catching up on all of your past videos. Thank you!
Many thanks Sandi. We do aim to visit the places where the stories took place. We just think it adds to it all and it also helps people get a feel for what the areas look like or once looked like all those years ago. Our last video didnt go as planned as the weather was horrendous, BUT, we still managed to visit Rainhill and get some footage which, in the end, didnt come out to badly :-)
Thank you Sandic for the kind comments. We always try to visit the locations to see how they have changed and get a feeling of what happened that day in history. Enjoy the rest of your week 😊
Thank you so much Susan. We always try to find stories with a twist and if we can find some that, whilst are well known, such as this one - the Frederick Deeming one, we try to find information no one else has found. Again, in this video, the grave of Marie Deeming.
Thanks for watching. We did notice you missing, but we appreciate the time difference and people have busy lives. Have a great week from Vickie & Chris 😀
Incredibly well researched, presented and produced, very professional and sensitively treated. I personally think that Deeming was the ripper and I've been of that opinion for a few years, particularly due to his ability to come and go at will under various alias's. Thanks very much
Great video Chris. I dont think Deeming was the Ripper, but that doesnt rule him out of being some kind of sick Ripper wannabe. Its sad that the grave is unmasked. Ive always felt that every grave should have some kind of marker as a mark of respect for the deceased. Again, great video Chris and Vickie 🙂👍
With this one, I think there should be a memorial or something to remember Marie and the children. After all, this crime is quite famous and yet nobody ever seems to try and find the place where the family is now buried. It really is like they have been forgotten about.
Thanks for another fascinating video! I've read about Francis Deeming before, and I don't think he's a viable Ripper suspect. However, I find it very telling of what an impact the Ripper crimes had on British (and English-speaking in general!) culture at the time that it seems that nearly every multiple murderer of women caught in the 1890's in Great Britain, and even a few in the US, Canada, and Australia, was considered to potentially be Bloody Jack, and some even bragged of it. I honestly don't think the mystery will ever be solved now, but it's still so interesting to speculate about! Also, great detective work with the drawing in the churchyard! Back in those days, when photography was still a relatively expensive luxury, all artists were thoroughly trained in perspective and accuracy, which has not been the case for far too many years! Just a gripe from an old-school artist whose experiences at a modern art school longer ago than I care to admit were a mixed bag at best! 😉
Thanks for sharing this with us all, and we agree this mystery will live on. Thanks for appreciating the hard work put in to ensure we still brought this video to you all, especially when the weather was against us. As always, thanks for your support like all of you guys who watch us. Have a great week from Vickie & Chris 😀
Brilliant video,so much to find out, and investigate, we always enjoy your videos very profesional. There are a lot of names at the end of your videos, are they actors or your friends? Thanks Chris and Vicki.

It never stopped raining that day and it did get cold at one point. At least we did manage to get some footage we could use, so it wasnt a waste of the day in the end.
Hello chris and vickie the bloody weather wasn't good to you. I must say chris I loved how you pronounced Ashby-de-la zouce. You pronounced it better then me and I live about 12 miles from there 😅 great video Chris and vickie 😊
Thanks Chris and Vicky for another interesting video. Goodness this Mr Deeming definitely did get around the world and cause havic. Going back in history and so many years ago makes him a definite suspicious character. Very sad that he murdered his wife and children. 😢 Although he was very suspicious I don't think he was Jack the ripper, but there definitely was something wrong with him that's for sure. Good thing that Justice was done. 👍👍👍
Thanks Shirley for watching and commenting. Yes he was a character shall we say! Awful what he went around doing and getting away with it for so long. Take care from Vickie & Chris x
Another well told piece of history, I don't think it was Jack the Ripper, but maybe someone who fantasised about being him? food for thought though, thanks Chris and Vickie for bringing the story to us ❤
There is something really weird about discovering these stories and then visiting the actual places where they took place. It's even better when hardly anything has changed.
We had the footage but didn't know what to do with it as we really wanted to film so much more when in Rainhill. But not wanting to waste what we had, I said to Vickie that perhaps we could still do it, but kind of half and half with me in our loft retelling the story and using the footage as a backdrop. I think it worked okay for our first attempt at doing videos this way.
Ooh, I do love the look of your loft! I'm so glad that I watched this and another of your videos tonight, I hadn't watched any for over a week I think and was beginning to miss them. This really was a very tragic yet interesting case, I feel so sorry for the whole family that was murdered. As for whether he was Jack The Ripper, I really couldn't say for sure, however I haven't taken up your suggestion of Googling this man to find out many more details about him, perhaps after doing so I'll feel more certain one way or the other. Thanks again for this account, and for your wonderful attempt to find the graves of the deceased family. That sketch really was well detailed. I wish I could accompany you on some of your searches for the graves in your videos as I love to explore graveyards, I also used to love sitting in Burnley Reference Library looking through books of statistics re businesses, illness amongst the townsfolk and the number of deaths from each from the 1800's. Also, if you ever consider doing a ghost hunt with any Patreon members who might live close enough to attend, I'd be very enthusiastic to join you all at those too.

@@RoyMcnicholas-o8k I've always thought that the Ripper wasn't one person working alone on each murder. I'd think it more likely at least two working together . I don't think Deeming was the Ripper myself (I lean towards Lechmere) but he was a deeply disturbed individual. Thank you for another superb video, guys 😊
