    I worked as a mechanic on the ground in the salt business for years, we bought new trucks, loaders and related equipment yearly. Our company owners said they needed new equipment to be competitive and it was simply the cost of doing business.

    People over-react to ships hauling salt. The high-pressure hoses that clean these holds are unreal. These ships can switch from coal to grain in a matter of hours

    Interesting. The one gentleman mentioned Munising as a potential delivery site. Lakers don't tend to dock there as far as I can tell - it would be a nice change of pace, maybe, for the locals.

      Isn’t there a pulp mill on the bay? I know it gets very shallow between Grand Island and the point.
