    Oh my good golly god, Hedge. I am so glad that I was delayed in buying a Bobber, because I would have bought the wrong one if I hadn't! This Bobber 20 is everything I wanted in a Scout Bobber. Travelin' Ted this model is the Scout Bobber Twenty because it is a specially designed bike to commemorate the original Indian Scouts in 1920. That’s why it has the spoke wheels and floating saddle seat.

    Good review. I had a 2016 Scout and love the look of these new Bobber 20s...especially with the chrome slip-on. I am one of those who don't care for mixing the painted black with the chrome. The laced wheels and mini apes look great though.

    3 things...
    1. I love the new intro.
    2. Those mini apes are perfect for the bobber and the only thing I felt was missing from the original.
    3. I still prefer the look of the original's seat even though it seems to have improved ride comfort. I guess the hardtail look doesn't really do it for me.

    Test rode one of these a week ago. Awesome bikes and great ride height, but horrible positioning for those of us that are shorter (I'm 5 '6"). Being shorter makes you really stretched out into an uncomfortable "V" position where you're really trying hard to reach the controls. An easy fix for us shorter people is having the aftermarket support pushing the controls to a mid-position. I also prefer the standard height bars, not the ape-hangers but that's a personal thing.
    As a huge Suzuki GSXR fan, I will be buying one of these as my first cruiser bike probably next year. They ride great, and they handle great. Very flexible motorcycle.

    I do not think they moved the foot pegs, I think with the old school spring seat style you are up and forward slightly making it feel that way. I love the look of the seat but at 6'2 and 220 with two bulging disks I am forced to go for cushy after market regular style seat. I believe they still offer the upgraded shocks as well as a option?

    • @RabidHedgehog

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  4 года назад

      Was it a Scout Bobber before or regular Scout? Scout Bobbers are already in reduced reach state, this seat does make you sit about an inch further back than before, which for me helps more than stock.

    Hi Champ
    how does it compare to the breakout I'm torn between both which would you buy

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  4 года назад +1

      The Breakout is a boulevard straightline bruiser at best. It does not have great turning angles and is truly designed to be a drag bike for the streets. I will say it is more comfortable than this one as it is a larger frame, but the Bobber is going to out run that any day and out turn it.

    I’m looking into getting into the cruiser scene from my fz09. Going for the comfort look and can’t decide whether to get this or a dyna wide glide. I want to get the bigger more layed back stretched out one between the two. I was gonna go with the cheiftain but it’s only got 85 hp and this one has 100 but i don’t want a beginners bike considering I’ve had iver 5 sport bikes and probably 20 dirtbikes and god only knows how many miles on the street. Any tips from cruiser guys would help

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  4 года назад

      To be honest the HP numbers on big air cooled are kind of meaningless in many ways as they make up for it with mountains of torque. Sure 85 HP, but 119 to 126 ft-lb of torque vs even the most spirited sport bikes usual 70s-80s with rare exception being higher. But it also is setup for a different riding style like riding a giant lumbering couch down the road. I would not call a Scout a beginner bike by any means. It can be used by beginners, but technically all motorcycles can be done in such ways. It's all about the rider and what they can do with the machine that they are given. A beginning rider cannot use the Scout to its fullest potential just like they cannot get a CBR1000RR to its fullest. I have been riding for years and I love bombing about on the regular Scout Icon that we have. Its reasonably fast, takes corners in ways most cruisers cannot, but scrapes faster than any sport bike out there. Looks good doing it too. But cruising is not about the speed at all. Getting the cruiser is about just enjoying the ride and the world going by in the freedom of the wind, so you'll never worry about 100HP or torque numbers or anything like that. Just riding.

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  3 года назад

      Well they put the other seat back on it. The springer style seat on this one aids the stiffness. Wind is easily a windshield add on fix that can then be dropped back to clean easily. I am weird in that I don't mind riding without a shield/fairing. I have a Scorpion R2000 that is a streamlined near race style helmet that slices the wind very well and keeps the head stable as well. So sometimes a helmet fix is also all that is needed.
