ConcernedApe is really one of the best and most caring game developers out there. He could've made so much extra money by selling the Ginger Island stuff as a DLC but he really did give it to us for free. Love this man, he's amazing.
For real, I've paid more for games with significantly less -- and he keeps working to improve the experience. I really respect the dude, I hope to continue to support his future projects.
Concerned ape is what I call a "pure developer." Cares more about quality and enjoying people than money. Mojang and relogic are some other examples. The games that those 3 made could easily make millions more dollars if they made the updates dlc, but they didn't.
@@girlmeat-beth i actually saw it on steam and it said about 760$ (full price) of paid expansions for a 40$ basegame. i love sims 3/4 but as time has gone on i really have just started to dislike the pure amount of shallow DLC that doesnt really retain my attention for more than 30 minutes
I literally can't play this game lol i am trying tho. But i agree. You can tell just by playing and watching that this man actually cares about what his audience and players think. And he has them in mind when he puts out new updates. He could have made a bloody fortune on this game

@@flints I'm slowly getting better at SDV. I play Story of Seasons Friends of Mineral Town too. I am in my second year of it. And i love that game. I think SDV just takes me longer to get used too bc we have so many more options for things we can do!

I was able to make over 300,000 gold by winter of my first yr but i can't for the life of me make enough money in SDV to get the bag upgrade lol but i absolutely refuse to let this game get me so I going to keep playing. I want to have ducks and raise dinosaurs!!! Who wouldn't want dinosaurs running around their farm. Lol
Horse flute, junimo chests, coffee maker, teleporting statues even if short distance and other....game truly needed these, even more now than ever because there's a lot of new stuff to do and i couldn't keep up back then, like i was afraid of adding more stuff to the barn and work on it.
@Aitor I i haven't used it yet, but going by concept it's a time saver, basically you no longer need to manually grab the materials and put it on machine, it does it for you as long it's chest has the materials, so basically every morning you can just run to the machine and pick up the things and the machine starts working by itself again thanks to the hopper.
@Aitor I i know, but you are focusing on the wrong thing, it still saves a lot of time because it's dropping the materials to craft for you, once those hoppers have all the materials you no longer need to bother again for a while, let's say you have a good number of items in Hopper and went to sleep, here's what happens next morning: Without Hoppers = Collect->go to chest->manually Pick up materials->manually put it on machine-> run back to drop your materials in chest because they take space->move on and come back after finished->Collect->repeat this for every other machine individually and manually. With Hoppers = Collect->move on then come back after finished->Collect. thanks to Hoppers you can finish daily routine earlier.
I’m actually gonna cry I was so sad that I’d beaten the whole game several times and didn’t have any new stuff to explore, then Ape goes and does *this* so now I get to plug in 200 more hours!! I’m installing a telephone if it’s the last thing I do

At this point I think I just want to restart my farm a new. I’ve built everything with the sprinkler’s range and Greenhouse location in mind, think I’ll need to restart to redo the infrastructure and have some beginners fun again
I love how he locked content to the 100 completion thing, I've gotten to see (one of?) the new cutscene and seen a few things you get for 100 and its so crazy. This update is incredible

There is a lot to go over in this update, but I'm particularly excited about the forge and fairy dust. The new furniture is also very nice. Wall mounted lighting is something I've been wishing for for a while!

Just bought stardew on my switch and I’m already addicted! Already on fall year 1 with my friend. This game is so relaxing I lay on my bed and farm away
Just a quick heads up! You can also get the auto-petter even if you haven't gone the Joja route. The only other way I found was by opening chests in skull caverns bonus floors. You have to get pretty lucky if you want to get them though.

Last I heard about SDV, ConcernedApe was making a poll for which fruit tree was going to be added. I thought that was the biggest deal about 1.5. Man could've easily sold this as a DLC and people would buy no questions asked. Now this is actually breathtaking!

Dang, I am never going to able to get the full perfection rating on my first file, since I can never craft the deluxe scarecrow. (I lost the museum ones, and I lost the ones I got at night market or they were never sold to me I don’t quite remember.)
I think you still can. You can actually now purchase the museum rarecrows you previously obtained at the night market. That was a 1.4 addition I believe. I don't remember which merchant sells them, but one of them do.

Me and my girlfriend started to play this game about a week ago. We currently have 35+ hours played. This update really seem to have nice thing I didn't know about. Thanks!
The Beach farm is made for a rancher playthrough. It's actually easier the first year to make a lot of money after the fall if you concentrate on cranberries and catching fish. Then use it to buy animals and build mayo and cheese machines. Then it's 8 to 10k everyday with 2 coops and one barn each filled with animals and 2 upgrade. The only problem is wood. You will go through it like crazy and it seems to grown slower on the beach farm but normal on the the small grass patch.
Concerned ape, if you read this, thank you! During this quarantine time my girlfriend and I looked for something to do. Puzzling, planting, Netflix (while she isnt a big fan of shaows mostly). But I got her into trying this game (she isnt a gamer as well) and she loved it. We often spent time together making our virtual farm now :P Thank you very much, stay healthy and good luck with your new project!
