Oh absolutely I agree with you 100% I remember when he did Justice League that book was one of the best DC books going at the time.

House of brainiac was superb! It was my first time coming back to Superman comics and it got me hooked up with the art and storytelling in all 6 comics

Bro you nailed it about rook. The excitement level when the new one comes out is equivalent to a kid at a toy store. Its beast master meets M.A.S.K. on a dying planet which is already a crazy awesome idea. But the execution of the story and art is just beyond anything out there imo.

Slayer!! What is UP, man? Decked out in your Batman gear today, eh? Haha! Pretty cool. "Rook" is one of my favorites right now too. Geoff Johns is killing it with his new universe. I like all his books, but "Rook" is probably my favorite so far.
Yeah that book is absolutely special I think he has something great in store for all of us kind of reminds me of his run on Green Lantern.
Rook exodus: imagine this, every warden having their own storyline/book with their stories! Would be beautiful
WOW that would be crazy. I could see spinoff books in the future but I wouldn't want it to get to big or overwhelming for readers because then it would loose that magic on what that book makes special.
Whats missing from bloodhunt is originality and soul, a care to create.
I’m waiting for the event and it’s tie-ins to come out in trades.

I'm really enjoying Bloodhunt, awesome art and just a fun summer event that's not being dragged out.
Also as a old school Marvel fan I love the inclusion of Varnae, I still have his first appearance and origin from the Bizarre Adventures magazine from 82' I believe.
He has long standing ties to the Darkhold, Atlantis, and even appeared in some Conan comics back in the day.
I saw someone say this event was creativity lazy, but I definitely disagree.
MacKay had gotta have love for the history and lore of Marvel comics to write this one.
totally agree on rook exodus. picked it up on the rec from the worker at my lcs and ended up loving it so much. the story/world building is super sick and the art is so good.
Yeah I don't know if this book would nearly be as good without that heartwork I mean it just tells its story in itself It's absolutely beautiful but I think Jeff Jones has a special story here.
Bloodhunt just seems to have nothing to gain other than ending the darkness and vampire threat. We all know that’s going to happen. Hopefully we get some real consequences and high stakes - pun intended - as the event builds to a climax.

Rook: Exodus is just awesome. Love the art and the story. This new universe has a ton of potential. Can't wait for issue 4. Those 1:50 helmet foil variants look amazing in hand...I am going to try to collect all of those as they come out.
Yeah my shop has not gotten enough copies of Rook Exodus to get 1/50 ratio

Blood hunt is just broken up into TOO many pieces. Would like to have seen more meat in the main series. But sales....😅.
Ghost Machine universe is amazing. Was suprised how much I liked Redcoat. Rook Exodus is a great new series!

I'm probably going to start reading House of Brainiac tonight. I collected all the issues so I could read it all at once. Only ones I didn't get are the Green Arrow tie ins. (because money)
And love ROOK. I know you want figures but I want the comic covers as posters. That would be amazing art to get framed and hang up. The covers are fantastic.

Hey Mike Spider-Slayer, now that Jackpot & Black Cat mini is over with what do you think they’re gonna do with the Jackpot/MJ? It’s clear by now, that this new direction for MJ has not been working out and it’s just becoming embarrassing at this point.
I can imagine Joe Kelly will play around with Jackpot for a bit before they revert MJ back to regular civilian. If there’s anyone who should be killed off, it’s Paul. He’s far outlived his purpose as a prop by editorial to keep MJ and Peter away from each other and his presence hurts whatever book he
I'm hoping that Paul gets killed and because of him getting killed her special powers eventually break down and then she becomes normal once again I think in order for Mary Jane to be a good character She doesn't necessarily need to be a superhero.
i finished reading some issues before watching this video, Rook being one of them. i had the EXACT same feeling, while reading i think i sent like 7 photos of the pages to my friend trying to get him into the series. 20/10 incredible read and i wish it would last a half long time !
Yeah this series is off to a good start and I think this is just the beginning The story potential is absolutely endless.

Hey Mike, fyi great news for you- Josh Williamson isn’t leaving Superman proper. It will be his only DC book. He said he has big plans for the book. Gail Simone and Rowell are taking over Action Comics which means it’s a “drop” for me.

Void Rival is a good mix of character and action with some Transformers cameos. But compared to Walking Dead, it is a much weaker story.
I think they're just two completely different stories all together and The Walking Dead was just something very special that took off and it was something completely different and it was a time where independent comics I think were just taking off.

Yes I have It does have some extra content and there is a little bit more blood and things are drawn differently to make it more graphic I would say it's not as intense as other Marvel Comics.

Marvel events never mean anything anymore. They may "change" the status quo, but it feels like doing so is just an excuse, like the event is just a fake way of bringing a change about, rather than the event itself being meaningful and impactful and something that the characters, and the readers, talk about for years to come.
So we're supposedly getting Doom as Sorcerer Supreme. Will that be a lasting change? I'm doubtful. But if it is, did we really need Blood Hunt to make it happen? When, if, people talk about Doom Supreme in the future, will Blood Hunt be remembered as some big thing that forced the change and impacted Marvel Comics forever?
And the return of Moon Knight. Did we need Blood Hunt for that? Will his death and return be remembered as some big thing that stays in our memories and hearts along with this vampire event?
There are no stakes at Marvel anymore. It's just a huge, ongoing soap opera. The best we can hope for is stories and art we enjoy, using characters we love.
I just think there so many off them .
