I remember when I was 16.
I was an extreme atheist, depressed to the point where I cried every night, abused cannabis and I had nothing going on in life.
I never really understood how depression worked and since I was a “drug enthusiast” I’ve read a lot about LSD and how people used it to treat depression.
I was reckless and decided to take a dose of 120ug without guidance around a big group of friends who were either sober or on other types of drugs.
About an hour into the experience I started seeing the beauty of nature…then it got weird.
I started seeing shapes, distorted faces, connections in random things and even peoples egos. It really messed with my mind to the point where I was staring into the floor for what felt like ages.
I remember this image…a void with a rollercoaster with me in the cart. The tracks were connected by two tunnels that stood about 3-5 meters away from each other, yet they lead to one another…it was like a never ending rollercoaster.
I soon realised what was happening and told myself that everything was gonna be ok…that’s when I felt at peace.
It felt like my head was on top of the highest mountain made of cold white sand with the rest of my body under the sand.
That’s when I realised why I was depressed. I realised that the reason for my loneliness and sadness was because I’ve done absolutely nothing to better myself as a person…I had no goals or achievements to be happy about. I also realised that the ego is a construct of the mind, a result of memories and trauma…it isn’t material therefor I can change it to my liking.
I stopped masturbating, playing videogames, broke up with my girlfriend and started working out and meditating.
A few months later I decided to take LSD again…a dose of 150ug.
While on a walk with my buddies, I started feeling it…the same feeling of peace. I was observing my surroundings when it hit me…”All is one”.
A few months later and tons of meditation sessions later I finally understood what “All is one” meant. That “one” is god and all that there is in existence is god. We are all the same minds, experiencing reality through different lenses/masks that are our egos.
All praise god, I wish you all happiness in life.
It's okay that you decided weed & psychedelics werent for you, but using said substances is morally neutral and people who use THC & psilocybin to treat mental illness & explore consciousness (in the case of psilocybin) are not bad people for doing so.
Beautiful story. God has blessed you with intellect and understanding. Not everyone who has such experiences, comes away with those realizations. I think that God can be personal just as much as it is general. Which further proves that “God is All”.

I encourage you to read the Bible, starting with Genesis. There is only one God, Jesus, and He is separate from His creation. He is fully man and fully God and He died on the cross and then rose again to save His people (all who trust in Him) from their sins. Go to the Bible to really know God!
Bruhhhh. My last big acid trip--- I'm not sure how I came to understand this, but, in simplest terms (despite the experience being truly beyond language)-- we are all "God."
I did a high dose and during meditation I fuckin became one with the universe.
I became pure consciousness. I was everything and I was nothing. I was with "God" and I was "God." There was no longer my human ego, but all was good.
I don't believe in Jesus n lots of religion, but in those intense moments, I knew without a doubt that we are "spirit" and that there is some sort of higher power. I understood and felt that everything is energy and that consciousness is fundamental (not emergent from matter).
i was an atheist until i took LSD and it showed me the truth in christs teachings like no church ever could.

I have many parallels to this testimony. The lord came to me 17 months ago. Never content, a searcher for truth but not knowing what that truth was. Christ will be the last port of call for many. I've been down that road. God really does reach out and speak to people sometimes, when they are in the throes of drugs. Seems counter-intuitive, but it's true. I'll never forget my amazing momentary encounter! It changed my life!
I am often reminded of Psalm 107 when I reflect back on this.
Sadly it’s only for a minority of people. The majority of drug addicts stay that way until they die.

You can't tell me that the drugs didn't help him end up where he is now. Psychedelics made me realize that Christianity was true all along. I've always been Christian but it never really made sense until I did mushrooms/lsd.

Yes I went through the same things, finally I heard God say to me "Be still and know that I am God'. Then God brought some Godly men into my life who taught me the gospel, the scriptures.
When times get rough look back at that time when God said "welcome home" and remember GOD CALLED YOU and it is God who is working in you. Run the race with perseverance. God bless you.
So encouraging and the interview was extremely well done.
He or an Angel spoke audibly to me. It happened in my house when nobody was home and a loud, soft, beautiful voice although it sounded like a woman’s voice I want to stress it rang through the house but directly at me. I tell people it was as though the voice came from someone sitting on the top of the stairs shouting at me.
Jesus loves us all! He truly is “Loves pure light”!

Very true. I am proof of that. I wouldn't be alive if I never used drugs. I used to wake up everyday not wanting to exist but psychedelics changed that.
You don't need mushrooms to get to Jesus though, you can just call on him to save you and he will.

I was a philosophy major in college; after I graduated I spent the next decade in buddhism, hinduism, taoism, new age, etc. before coming to Christ in 2013, and then fully surrendering in 2020. I know exactly what he means when he talks about his struggle with the "exclusiveness" of Christianity; but Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life--narrow is the path that leads to life and broad is the path that leads to destruction.

I was into both. For quite a while I considered "Be Here Now" to be my favorite book, and "The Book" was also a very influential book for me. Interestingly enough, it was "Be Here Now" that started to push me in the direction of believing that Jesus had actually existed; for quite some time I had believed that he was completely fictional. Although "Be Here Now" did not preach biblical Jesus, it did preach Jesus as a "guru"; and I had enough respect to for Richard Alpert to say "well, I guess Jesus was a real person" (but it was several years before I would truly come to Christ).
I hope he has been delivered because the demons will stay unless they are made to leave even in a christian

Really liked hearing his story here! It’s somewhat applies to me… I was a hippie or I would call myself a “borderline hippie“! I did a little LSD, and a little other stuff/other drugs, and was a Nishiren Shoshu Buddhist(from modern day Japan) for a fairly brief stint in Philadelphia. Oh, I had done transcendental meditation before that for a while. Went to quite a few different churches, searching other faiths… I was raised in the Episcopal church… also tried all this New Age stuff! Well, maybe the Buddhism was New Age stuff?! I did rebirthing, body harmony, externalization through Elizabeth Kubler Ross(death and dying)… oh, I was super into astrology! Etc.! Oh, went and lived and worked at Hippocrates health institute in Boston, run by and Wigmore, that had to do with strict vegetarian diet of raw foods only, etc. Oh, also had an Israeli boyfriend who got me into Judaism a bit. He asked me to marry him and convert to Judaism. I said no, because I couldn’t deny Jesus Christ!!! Though I said I was an agnostic to an atheist at the time and throughout part of my life… But I knew that Jews didn’t believe the Christ was the Messiah, though I think I basically did know that!

Yes drugs can sometimes bring you to god by showing such far out visions and then when you come down you say to yourself ‘if a drug can induce fantastic visions what must heaven be like ‘.
That’s the question I asked myself and that’s why I believe in god .

Please pray for our son, Jordan David. I don't know how to help him. He has known the Lord, but has wandered far away, and is experiencing so many things that we don't understand. He hallucinates. He is an avid reader and studies a lot of unusual things that I'm uncertain about. I have never taken recreational drugs, so i don't know how they could affect him if he is taking anything. That i don't know. A few days ago he called me, and shortly into the conversation he was cursing me and telling me how horrible his dad and i were as parents, the kind of Christians we are. Well, we love him so much, although we do not support some of the choices he has made. We just need prayer.

I Love the Absurd notion , and Mindset , that EVERYTHING Spiritual , outside of Religion , is Blanketed under the term New Age , when almost all the Spiritual practices and concepts considered New Age , are so Ancient , that they are unfathomably Stupendous in their antiquity , when Religion is a newborn infant in comparison , the Level of misunderstanding and lack of knowledge , is immediately self evident when terms like these are used , and they are not subjective .
Gods Holy Spirit is outside of all that. Longevity doesn't equate to authenticity and popularity doesnt equal progress. Ask from a genuine heart and you shall receive what The Lord Jesus has prepared for you.
Ancient, but also Pagan and not from Yahweh, the Creator. Christianity is not about "Religion". The Bible warns about false prophets and false teachers, they are the "Relgion" of which you speak. The Pharisees with all their rules. Jesus is the only way. You can resent and reject that, which you obviously do.

I'm sure religion can provide answers where there normally are none but y'all in the comments need to stop pretending christianity is the only path to happiness and fulfillment. This is just this guy's personal experience with religion giving him a sense of direction in life. Which is definitely a good thing but there are other ways to find direction or "meaning" in everyday life. Just watch/read other religion's conversion stories and you'll find a similar theme. It's the same story. Mormonism "saved" my step-grandma in the same way. Being religious does not guarantee you happiness, and I think more people need to hear that.
Religion can help those who aren't satisfied with saying "I just don't know". Our existence is very strange indeed and it makes sense to explain it away with some sort of religion, but I personally think it's okay to admit you don't know much about the nature of reality and (probably) neither does anybody else. Nobody really knows what's going on, they only pretend to. Does it really make sense to let other people think for you? Do they know something you don't? Or perhaps they're just as lost as you are. Theism is a philosophical dead end.

Very interesting I can certainly relate, spent 3+ years in the new age, several ayahuasca trips, experienced DMT, psilocybin, various mystic schools, eastern traditions…
Felt a blissful connection to all reality which stems from within - until I had the MOST supernatural (sober) experience I’ve ever had and was saved by Jesus Christ.
Think it’s very important to realize that on the trip of “all roads lead to the top of the mountain”, we have to recognize that we have to leave the Bible behind on that path - because it does NOT fit into that worldview (could say that’s because it’s “conditioning” that prevents true understanding, but the argument here is that Jesus and the Bible explicitly deny a many roads approach and can’t be assimilated into a mesh of spiritual practices and maintain its core teaching).

I find it all comes down to 2 verses - the first lie of Genesis 3:5 “You can be as God” and 2 Corinthians 11:14 that Satan “masquerades as an Angel of light”.
