I was just telling my wife the other day about your channel and having kids. I barely have time to do any lawn care with one kid. I told her you do it with 5 I believe? She's not a big landscaping fan but does help out.
its actually nice to see lawns that are nice but not ridiculously unattainable like some other channels. Also you are one of the few who don't edit videos with cut aways to hide imperfections in their lawn, AND its easy to spot that you are easy going with camera angles because you don't mind showing a fault...where some other channels always record from the same spots in each part of their yard to create an image.
Get 2,4D and a surfactant. Mix as per the label and it kills it pretty good in one application. I believe it will be a stronger application than hose end sprayer and kill it much better with no effect on the grass. For a blanket spraying, use a back sprayer.
I'll give you credit dude: you are "the every man's lawn king". You're the "Dan Conner" (Roseanne's husband for you non TV viewer's) of lawn care. It's why I subscribe. Most lawn channels (Lawn Care Nut, etc..) all have AMAZING lawns, which makes most "every man" feel somewhat "inadequate". Keep it up bud.
As a child I looked for a lucky 4 leaf clover... Now I feel lucky if I don't see clover in my yard. Looks like I'm luckier today with this tip. Thanks Grassdaddy!

I would rather be selective. No need to blanket spray if you only have certain spots effected by the clover. I like your idea of saving what you don't use for another application at a later time. Good work man!!
We didn't use a hose in sprayer at the beginning of the year. I expect it to be here in the fall and going back over it but Pump Sprayer and Blue Dye let's you know where you Spray. 1 oz per gallon of the dye. Granted once your yard if fully green it's not as easy to see.
Thank you Grass Daddy this was very helpful . I just worry about the toxicity levels of some sprays on the market , would appreciate any advice you can give on that . Thank you again

Where did you find the weed-b-gone? I’ve looked at the big box stores with no luck. I use to be able to buy concentrate to mix in my hand held sprayer.
Solution to the gas fill up problem...remove the red spout guard that comes with the Honda mower and use a wide mouth funnel. Works for me...zero spills.
I had no issues with the no spill can, the spout on that one was short so you could stop it quick. The sure can spout is so long it's full of gas so you have to leave room after you stop
@@GrassDaddy maybe I'm wrong but I think the lower spouts are meant to for bigger machines with multiple gallon holds and to stay locked on the trailer for weed eating type machines and blowers.
After killing large areas of thick clover I have these clover roots and not much grass left, what do I do now? I can actually put my hand into the dead clover and pull up on the roots leaving me with a mess. So what happens now, do I leave it till the following year and will the roots of this clover disappear?
Apply Nitrogen rich fertilizer to build the turf. Clover is an indication of low Nitrogen in the soil. Overseed in the fall . It may take 2-3 years of working on it to get rid of it. If not kill all the grass and start new- I;m having the same problem and will try to rebuilt over time
Moon Pie no I haven’t tried it, nor have seen it. I just figured that if you scalp it, and then overseed it,...the new seeds would take over before the clovers would have a chance to recover.
I did a test for Clover kill. Roundup took longer to kill the clover vs Ortho but Ortho killed some grass blades. Decided to use Roundup. But both work. Just use less of Ortho
Good video and information. I have with clover that I just started fighting back. I used Spectracide Weed Stop RTS a few days before the last mow. I will hit them again after the next mow with the hope I'll get more of the lower lying ones. Spectracide recommend waiting two weeks before applying it again.
I had great success with Spectracide (orange cap) because of its expanded list of weeds it controls including nutsedge, and its really cheap too. I'm not a fan of that guy at the end of your video, reminds me of Tool-Time-Tim-Allen
Sorry, I'm laying down an insecticide on my lawn to keep the ticks at bay. I'd prefer to have the bees move onto the next yard instead of land on whatever clover is there.
Lawn chemicals of any type always work better after it rains so everything in the yard is taking on nutrients then hit it with your chemicals and it’ll work way better than trying to spray down the sun bleached lawn I think you’ve got a lot to learn

If your lawn is too tall then the grass can cover the clover. As long as you mow your normal height clover tends to stay just below it
