Westwood: let's use models from Tib Down in Red Alert randomly
Jethild: *proceeds to create lore that explains how each sides acquired their tanks/other weapons
The original manual mentions a scandal involving American defense contractors.
I wouldn't say randomly. Red Alert was intended to be a prequel to Tib Dawn. Hence why Kane is involved in the conflict.
yes, only EA has the manpower and the money to do all this while at the same time pretend to kill the franchise and lowkey build up hype to bring it back like never before. Would Klepacki say yes if asked to compose a few more funky basslines?
@@AremStefaniaKProbably. He's part of the band "Tiberian Sons" and made a few remixes of old stuff a year or two ago so it's safe to say he really likes what he worked on.
@@AremStefaniaK EA didn't own Westwood until Tiberian Sun, after Red Alert.
Keeping CnC alive thank you Jethild
Yeah thanks
CnC is a masterpiece
CnC lives in Death!
You think he’s keeping CnC alive? 😂😂 ok bud, ok 😂😂
Totally agreed!
The technology of peace, revealed to us by the voice of the Prophet Jethild. Praise be unto Kane, my brothers. Today is a good day.
You are led by a false prophet, join the GDI before it is too late.

25:41 I think that in the lore underground travel became pretty much impossible with all of that tiberium veins, so that is the reason why subterranean vehicles were no longer used in TW3.
It hink its because in TW3 many maps are city or city ruins maps, who often have build underground infrastructure, which is often difficult to tunnel trough.
@@SapphirosCZ Nope.
@@themaniomarianI mean it's fair. Be all fun m games till you accidentally cut into a basement and compromise a structure.
So glad to see that there are still people who love the lore of this series as much as I do. Even if we're all tucked away in our own weird corner of the Internet.
Loving the work Jethild, keep it up commander.
Wish EA would release this IP...
Same
Most of the lore Jethild talks about is inaccurate because he make it up himself, so don't take this for canon.
The mailed fist of Nod on display? Exquisite.
36:19 I always assumed Nod spent a few years tinkering away at reverse engineering CABALs Core Defender mech from the end of the Firestorm Crisis in order to build their mechs and used parts of abandoned GDI mech to fill in the gaps. The most notable similarity being the slung cannon design and the striking resemblance to the Cyborg Commando
Makes sense, even has a lot of the same appearance and movement/propulsion. Perhaps Slavik was reverse engineering it and after his assassination Marcion made off with the designs and added his own personal touches. Though I suppose every GDI pilot can be grateful the Brotherhood never re-engineered the Obelisk of Darkness, can you imagine anti air Obelisks...NO, NO CNC4 you get back in your hole right now!
@@lordfrostwind3151 they really should just retcon that C&C4 by pretending it never happened and just make another C&C4
26:54 I loved it when the reckoner said: "It's reckoning time" and proceeded to reckon all over the enemy forces
He reckons the shit out of the blue scum xD
Nothing is more satisfying then a Purifier + Mantis combo.
While the Purifiers clear out ANYTHING on the ground, the Mantises clear out the skies. A slow, yet unstoppable combination!
Arty/Air assault combo has entered the chat
The Scorpion's ready!
"We will not be overpowered!"
"There nothing"
@@canon07 It's "They're nothing."
For Nod the term "armor" is used rather loosely 😅
Like their armor
“Armour? Why would we need armour? We just pumped this guy full of drugs and tiberium, and now he can stop a bullet with his face!”
Can it stop rain?
Ehm... partially?
Good enough, its armored.
"No armor's too tough"
- Tank Destroyer, Red Alert 2
Kane is aware of this.
GDI also does not get into specifics about what kind of weapons does the infantry used. Just pulse rifle. That is it.
man I love the aesthetics of tiberium sun! beautiful
It took me years to notice the Scorpion tank was assymetrical, and now I can't unsee it. Even then, still one of the coolest designs in the series
to me, its a hell of a upgrade kit for GLA Scorpion tank
@@AremStefaniaK GLA Scorpion is iraqi modification of soviet built BTR-50 equipped with Engesa EE-9 Cascavel turret.
I know I've said the same thing in some of your other videos. You add depth into the games and units that don't need to be deep. These videos take passion and time but you give details without being annoyingly geekish. You also add practical combat techniques and it helps bring units to life. All enjoyable videos.
You are just one of the few people who like the concept of practicality next to how something work, for us we been playing RTSes for so long, we question how some things function, we are not to think to much, but sometimes, we still question, sure we can fathom a few guesses but sometimes its not enough, sometimes a name alone makes us "WHAT IS GOING ON INSIDE", A reason why I like command and conquer renegade and world of warcraft for showing how some of the structures in Warcraft 3 looked and function.
Though my first time in a long time going "WHAT IS GOING ON INSIDE?" is Jurassic world evolution 2 (Yea I know, very different genre but still, I like to explore the oddities) is a gift shop that can be set to sell varying things, one of the things is dino adoption, I mean, what is this? I can fathom its like a weird form of sponsoring but there is also a park sponsorship so I do not know what the heck is going on and I want to know.
I wonder why everyone in each Titan vs Tick tank video says that the Tick Tank is outmatched in 1v1 but they never mention how Tick Tank in turret mode actually beats Titan, it is not fair tbh xD
But Nod in TS has one major advantage in vehicles. They can bring along their repair vehicles.
If the two ran up to each other the titan would win either due to superior firepower or the tick being defenseless when entering turret mode, but a titan running up to a deployed tick would die
Titans can shoot over walls and cliffs due to their height. That's about where the advantages end.
@@arsenalxa4421 Though, Tick has one more advantage. Longer reach on top of a cliff. Position them well and deploy, for maximum effect.
“I mean, let’s be honest. That’s probably one of the best cutscenes in the C&C series.”
Best line in the video!
Always a happy day when you release more CnC videos. Love your channel. 😊
I also think you should do something similar with red alert side.
He will, but he is still etching out the draft, but first he needs to finish the C&C Tiberium Lore.
The more Nod's aesthetic evolved the more I find they remind me of Cobra from G.I. Joe, wonder if that was intentional..
❤ that got me hooked with C&C Gold.
Apple factory taken by rock music band
Could Cabal's Core Defender have also been an inspiration for the Purifier, the Avatar and the Redeemer?
It makes sense if brotherhood of nod was inspired by cabal
It literally was.
I imagine some of it was used for the Purifier first, just a massively scaled down production model with Marcion's personal touches (perhaps Slavik was in the middle of reverse engineering it when he was killed and Marcion made off with the plans) then when the Black Hand was reintegrated Kane restored some features and tried to make it more versatile. I imagine they weren't able to produce it until they stole some of the information from GDI's MARV due to the loss of some necessary information on how to construct such massive vehicles when CABAL was initially defeated and Kane and Legion simply didn't have the time or resources to recover the data.
That would be a definitive case...
Am I the only one who's never actually managed to get the Redeemer's rage generator to work? Or is that just me? Because I swear I have never ONCE seen it actually have an effect on enemy units.
Same here, maybe it doesn't have an effect against AI opponents? I've never played multi-player.
Y'know, I never thought of that.
I don't blame you, it isn't very intuitive; even Jethild failed to use it right in this vid.
The thing many new or casual players don't realize is that the rage generator doesn't force units that are already shooting at something to forget their current target. It only prevents the units from receiving any further orders and causes them to see friendly units as enemies, but units only auto-acquire new targets once their current target is dead.
It works best on units that are either idle or moving around but not yet in range to attack one of your units.
Thus it's not a 'get off me' tool to be used when a fight is going poorly as unfamiliar players assume it is, but to be used just before a fight to get a good engage on the enemy army.
In fact, highly experienced players will exploit how the rage generator works by closely watching the enemy Redeemer for the start of its rage generator animation, once they see it they force attack the ground near their units so they spend the full duration attacking the ground instead of their own units. If you're Nod or MOK it can be a very good idea to use the stealth support power on your redeemer.
@@Toast_94 dude, that makes so much sense! Thanks! I never realized that. Although I have always loved using the stealth field power in the Redeemer, just to help with it's traversal and survivability I mean come onnnn a massive, mobile obelisk of light with a missile launcher that can self repair and appear out of nowhere, while also crushing most units under its feet? That shit is TERRIFYING 😅😅😅
Edit: spelling errors.
@@connorniece5323 No problem! It's one of the most tricky abilities to use well but it can be deeply rewarding to pull off. There isn't a sight quite like seeing a large column of enemy avatars marching toward your own, popping the rage generator and watching that column erupt into a light show just before your own units plow into them.
I agree that a stealthed Redeemer certainly is indeed the stuff of nightmares tho, that's for sure! xD
I'm a little sad that the "technology" style videos have been discontinued before we got one on the subterranean vehicles, but it was nice to see them covered here at least.
Excellent video as always
Randomly came across your CNC vids one day and I never knew how much I wanted to learn about the CNC franchise thank you for keeping this game alive in mind red alert 2 was my baby back in the day
Yay,more C&C contents!
My dude still uploading! Love this
hell yeah, Jethild has blessed us with another banger.
It's really criminal that such a deep and interesting setting remains unused...
Oh, it is the perfect gift in the end of the day!
Everytime I watch your videos, it makes me wanna play C&C games with mods again. ^_^
Keep up the fantastic work man! Always makes the day better to see an upload!
Been waiting for this video!! Lezgo
Nice work on nod armor
Yooo another C&C lore video! Awesome dude, I always look forward to watching these. Keep it up man. Your videos have helped me a great deal over the past year to deal with some personal stuff, thanks dude.
39:03 If you look closely, you can see that the Avatar puts out his hand from his laser, which captures the laser of the beam cannon. Where it is stored there, so as not to be destroyed by the laser of the mech, is, of course, an interesting question.
Yet again you uncannily release a video right when I really need a morale boost. 🤗 thank you!
Nothing like more C&C lore to make my day. 🥰
Good job once again, Jethild! 👍
Glad to see you doing Kane's work, people like you help keep C&C alive and bring in new people
I can’t remember if subterranean vehicles could surface in Tiberium fields in the 2nd war. Maybe a theory for nod abandoning them could be that they couldn’t work in environments where Tiberium has thoughtfully infested for structural integrity or biological survivability reasons. So by the time of the 3rd wars they would only be of use in a small part of the blue zones and not worth the upkeep efforts.
The first time using a squadron of upgraded Purifiers i fell in love with the Black Hand subfaction, embrace the glorious flames! Though i can't help but imagine the "blessing" involving a couple red robes priests beseeching the Machine Spirit, in the name of Kane of course.
Great video my favorite parts is where the scorpion tank yells:" BEGIN the Assault
Flame tank:" the fuel HUNGERS is awesome too
Another amazing video, keeping us hyped for the franchise.
We really need that tib sun remaster, yesterday 😊
The intro makes me tear up, haven’t heard that in forever thanks ❤
I like that you are still going, even though you covered so much.
Also the light tank 'debate'. Good content
I love how Jethild has "one purpose!!1!", singlehandedly revitalizing the franchise
Oh man, we love this channel, great videos every time about C&C, KANE will be pleased, very much.
Excellent in depth video as always! For me, Nod had the more interesting units and tactics from the start. Thank you for ever addressing the greatness of these games, brings back memories.
Im surprised red alert isnt on here just yet.
We l know how og ra2 and its mods are.
An excellent presentation of the technology of peace...through power of course.
...I've played Tiberium Wars on and off for years, and I never knew the scorpion tank had that laser upgrade.

Another great video!
What a great way to prep for the weekend!
Great video keep up the great work
Amazing as Always thx

This takes me back
I’ve been waiting for this one for so long!
THE TICK TANK NEEDS LOVE
When will they learn and make the next command and conquer!!!
Considering the last time we asked that we got the game that shall not be named and red alert 3, might be better to wait.
A remastered Tiberium Sun would do me very nicely
We alredy did and it is a mobile abomination and mokery of CnC made by chinese.
We probably will need to wait 5 to 7 years at best for new entry in franchise thats is if dosent suffer same fate as Heroes of might and magic > endless stream of mobile games meant for nostalgia spending.
The avatar warmecs and their weapon system taking make me wonder why they don't just tell the crew of a vehicle they want the weapon of to get out (provided time for such exists). Training such crews (except for the attack bike) probably takes a while/costs resources, and while Nod is callous to a fault, it's curious how their odd habit of penny-pinching (for a ridiculously wealthy organization Nod does like to save resources anytime the option presents itself) doesn't compel them to try and not kill their own vehicle crews needlessly. Then again, Kane was perfectly ok with Nod being reduced to but a shadow of its former self ("as it should be") as long as they got the Threshold tower and codes, so maybe it was done on purpose to wipe out as many less wanted brothers as possible?
YES Jrthild is back baby
A fond Hello from Nova Scotia a HUGE CnC fan (Pre CnC4 of course!)
I love it that u still using westwood format.
Awesome video
NOD has some of my favorite artillery.
A pin point accurate laser AND a cloaked mobile cannon? And both were quick! Awesome!
Great video!!!!
I love how because of the defence turret nerfs thanks to multiplayer patches, the Reckoner is basically the games best defence turret when next to a war factory. Being auto-repaired for free you could defend any position at the cost of no power and no creds for however long you needed to beat any AI
finally i wanted a nod armor vid purifier and redeemer is my favorite in kanes wrath
Love how youre keeping up the C&C lore. Out of curiosity, do you plan on doing lore for tempest rising when it comes out?
Best content, Creator
Fantastic video! I think you forgot show and mention the stealth tanks, those things can be scary ambushers
My favorite part was when the Reckoner said "It's reckoning time!" And reckoned all over those guys.
5:26 Its not M1 abrams, but Leopard 1 Actualy very good analogy of Nod armory I love it!!
Ever since I was in high school, I had this whole headcanon for the Red Alert era light and medium tank depictions simply being a lack of WW2 era assets for FMVs.
I always imagined the light tanks as being Chafees and Shermans while the Soviet tanks got their iconic aesthetic from snatching up whatever German engineers that were left without jobs when the timeline was rewritten; giving the Soviet tanks their blocky almost German-like designs and the Mammoth being like parallel to the Ratte concept designs.
at 39:07, the avatar's right arm opens up to deploy a small claw with witch to attatch the new beam to it's left arm.
Scorpion tank of Third Tiberium War fame looks like someone put Strv103 inspired "hull"/turret upon Komatsu excavator and gave it a "trench tail" with separate track.
Given how Kane started off formation of Brotherhood by siphoning off soviet funds and equipment, before proceeding to do the same to Yugoslavia and PRC, I have a feeling that light tank 76mm cannon may be implying PT-76 tanks or at least their armaments usage. After all, Nod might have been forced to construct their own vehicles from components "misplaced" by their "donors" thus ending with a Type 62 equipped with D-56T gun.
Or maybe the Type 62 was simply not ready for their reality version of WWII and instead a prototype of Type 62 aka Type 59-16 was instead finished and pressed into service.
I remember reading somewhere that, in Red Alert, the best tank platoon mix was three Light Tanks for every Medium Tank. It's also easier to field whole divisions this way.
Another great video, comment for the algorithm thingie.
15:44 Ironic. He could save others from death, But not himself
Its interesting how we see NOD and GDI start relatively similar and then diverge more and more as time goes by. Basically almost forming two different "evolution paths" of humanity.
I think the CnC1/ RA1 Light Tank was meant to be M41 Walker Bulldog. It is a Vietnam-era tank carrying a 76mm gun, which is close enough to the 75mm described in game. It fits the overall Cold War aesthetic of RA1, and it’s more reasonable to have leftover Cold War tanks in service in the 90s (CnC1) than antique WW2 tanks.
Another reason I think it’s M41 is because it was really meant to be US Army’s primary light tank - complementing the M48 and M60 medium tanks - before it switched to the MBT concept. It was used so extensively that it became South Vietnam’s primary tank.
But I like your guess. M24 Chaffee was indeed the immediate precursor to M41.
There really is something to be said for just how diverse nods tactics become over the years. They start off with simple hit and run with little more and by the end have stealth, emp, mechanical brain indoctrination/manipulation, and a far improved defence grid to provide a safehaven for such tactics to come from.
For the Avatar getting the second laser, I could see a hand come out of the right arm through the laser to grab the turret.
39:00 you can see te laser folding backwards and a smaller hand coming out of it and folding back in.
Is the Beam Cannon already talked about in previous videos?
I talked about it in my "Nod's Mobile Artillery" video.
Your voice and delivery could totally pass for the Down the Rabbit Hole dude
The Technology of Peace! PEACE THROUGH POWER!
watching that hammerhead go down like that hurt me emotionally
In the Albanian mission in cnc 3, the dual gun scorpion tank shows up, in the nod depot
A fully upgraded avatar at heroic rank was terrifying.
The reckoner was my favorite vehicle. It was brutally effective when deployed next to a friendly war factory.
I was found it amusing how the Black Hands must bless their walkers before battle, it reminds me of Warhammer 40, blessing your weapons and vehicles.
ahora que ya he jugado Tiberium Wars entiendo mucho mejor estos videos, y estoy ansioso por jugar a Kanes Wrath :)
In the context of the third war and how pervasive tiberium has invaded the landscape, especially in red and yellow zones where Nod mostly operated, perhaps subterranean units simply couldn't navigate anymore, blocked by bulk crystals and networks of tiberium veins.
25:32 I believe that this variant of the Scorpion tank wasn't adopted as the addition of the laser cannon and its capacitors to the Scorpion tank chassis would have increased too much the weight of the Scorpion tank, thus reducing its speed, which is the core of Nod tactics, and the main advantage of the Scorpion tank over its GDI counterpart
This information proof to be very useful.....
Now that we know everything we will come back.... More prepared.... For the Overlord...
Best nod tank was the TW3 tank. I have sweet artwork of that from deviantart. One of them is so beautiful because of the absolute realism the guy crammed into it. I always show it off. Wish i could post it here, but you can find it if you keep in the mind the art piece I talk about has a small viewport that is glowing a baleful orange and there's a soldier next to it's right side (right side if you looked at its aft) along with an ammo catridge belt hanging out of the cannon's side.
I love this so much. It pains me that we may never see the "good ending" to this lore and universe. A shame. I'd even take a hastly written script from the creators at this point.
They just want to make more $$$$$$
“Sorry boss, gonna take the rest of the day Jethild posted.”
_"Avatar ready."_
I thought in the first tiberium war Nod purchased their vehicles on the private market, hence why they had to fly them in.
Did you update the intro? It just seems more "crisp", love the channel though keep up the great work!
Intro has been the same for the past few videos. Maybe what helps is there is a green screen inside the circular "vault" at the beginning which allows me to better place a video inside it, so the zoom in looks a little better. But like I said, I made that update a few videos ago.
4:08 that Nod biker was like "Hell yeah!!"
