- I grew to really like the 2024 AMG GLA 35 this week. Sure it's massively overpriced, and looks like a toddler shoe, but it makes me smile. This is the last thing I expected to have "soul" but it's got a lil bit in there.

Raising the base MSRP of the GLA35 to drop the more powerful GLA45 is nasty work. With options this car is a good $15k too expensive

Went on the configurator and fully loaded one of these just for fun and it came out to…wait for it…$80,075! Tbh I just don’t see the point of this when you can get a near fully equipped GLC300 for the low to mid 60’s. Hell, you could probably even get into a GLC43 for this tester’s price.
73k gets you lots of cars. M340i, Porsche Macan, S4/S5, Mustang, you can continue naming the list

Typically not “negative” about automobile prices b’c I know the market has evolved into a “new beast”, but ~$73k for an “entry level” model truly shows just how wild the market has gotten … especially when it’s the price point for a GLA35 in lieu of the GLA45 - sheesh.

They start around 50k but fully specced can get really expensive. I think it’s a terrible value if you aren’t leasing it. Go buy a Golf R if you want an AWD hot hatch with an auto.
The engine sounds good and appears to be super smooth but 73 for this is egregious man
My almost fully loaded 2023 GLA45 was 72k. Even has the mountain grey magno matte paint job. Shameful how a 35 can get higher.
Why would you buy one of these over literally anything else? A small vehicle with an okay 4 cylinder and decent interior for 74k? X3 m40i with a good amount of options would be around the same price with much better performance and reliability, similar quality interior and more spacious.
Keep in mind 3 year old GLA 35 are selling for under $30k on the low end…

It should be able to do the Jeck and Hyde thing for 73k. Not sure why BMW and MB can’t do compliant sporty cars like Porsche and Cadillac can do.

Thanks super video love it .....Cyprus starting price is €62K. And with some small extras it comes to 65.5. I order mine but 19" wheels Michelin pilot sport 4S summer tyres .I hope will be smoother on road . I love this car size and all the packages and look .it's my personal preference of course and each of us can disagree .....I check before the Audi Q3 sportback 40tfsi and s cupra and x1m35 I prefer and choose the Gla35 ... The only one which makes difference to take is Porsche macan but price is way higher at €89k and for year 2024 is only electric ....what e mess . Sorry if my English are not and the best ...✌️
really nice review, love the content!! my mom’s 2021 AMG A 35 stickered for $57k, and that car, i think, looks way better, is probably a little bit faster, and probably handles a little bit better than this GLA 35. granted that was almost four years ago now, so inflation is definitely a thing. but still, over $70k? at that point i’d get a Volvo V60 Polestar Wagon, or even an Audi RS3, he’ll even a Golf R. and this is coming from someone who is a Mercedes fan. 🥴

Not the best value new, but lets be real you're not buying any MB product new because of value.
I had been in the A45s and the CLA45s and those 2.0T 4-Cylinder engines do have lots of power! And they are very fun! But the prices are high though, like 74K for a GLA... not even a GLC or even a GLB. 74K is very high!

73 k for lifted front wheel drive wanna be hot compact suv,there are so many better options for less than 73k,and these over stressed 2 liter engines doesn’t worth it.

I had an A35 which was around $53k in 2020. That was more of a value than this. Also back then in 2020 the 7 speed DCT was clunkier than this '24 GLA 35 where the transmission is the same as the CLA45. But wow what is that upshift sound. It's just horrible.
Even if for its glitz and glamour, the GLA 35 is definitely not worth 73k dollars. A horribly overpriced car for sure!
$73k gets you a fantastic price on a used GLE with the 5.5L V8
Keep in mind you can get a 2022 A35 for like half this price and its at most 2 years old and its the same interior....and a hatch not an SUV.
