this is for people that must drive a mercedes because "I drive a Benz Yo". that louis vuitton monogram, i mean mercedes star monogram is just icing on the cake.
While I was shopping for a vehicle, I checked out the GLB months ago. Although I like the boxy styling for practicality, the interior and built quality felt very cheap and non-Mercedes and the front logo was quite ugly too. My rule of thumb, don’t even consider any entry level model from luxury brand. I looked for an Audi.
i recently purchased a 2025 GLA 250 and put about 800 miles on the vehicle. Here are my thoughts: • The overall build quality is conspicuously superior to the Toyota RAV 4 that I traded in. • The overall ride quality and handling - again conspicuously superior to the Toyota RAV 4 that I traded in. • The actual MPG is virtually the same as the RAV 4. I am getting a consistent 34+ MPG on the highway (@ 55 mph) on the GLA 250. This moves to about 32 MPG when traveling at interstate speeds. • The transition from “mild hybrid” only drive to the turbo kicking in is disappointing. It is not smooth. • The MBUX nav/entertainment/info system is befuddling. The menu hierarchy is, at best, poorly designed and, at worst, was not really designed at all - just pasted together as a random thought. MBUX just SUX.
what was you RAV4? surely not a Cruiser eFour? - when you mention build quality do you include the fact RAV4 is much more reliable than any Mercedes and has much better depreciation, and for good reason? Also the RAV4 is much bigger in almost every dimension and is roomier and more comfortable on long journeys The GLA develops its power and efficiency from a turbo which is set to high boost so as to achieve power and efficiency which limits the life of the engine enormously. This in fact is what makes the engine prone to early failure and wearing out of components. Cost of maintenance and repairing any Merc is astronomical and I would not keep a GLA past its warranty period, whereas a toyota will outlast any merc anytime
@@majorrgeek OK - you are a Toyota fan. I get it. Love you're loaded questions. Yes - the RAV is bigger. You must be an American as you equate that bigger = better. So, go for it. Be well.

@@majorrgeek Good morning. If you feel my comment about American car think (bigger = better) is "rude," you may need to toughen up a little. Just a thought. Have a good day! [oh ... and you missed it on the German thing.]
great video as always , but who is the target audience for this vehicle, it seems big for a one person situation and a bit small for a small family! I am no car expert and have never owned a Merc , but this looks like slightly smaller, less capable cx5 ..from 2022. ? and what is up with so much cabin noise?
It’s a shame Mercedes is not offering the EQA in the US. I have this car in Mexico, and it is a great electric car for those of us who like a smaller SUV in the city. And the price was less than a Model Y much more luxurious. It would be great if you could show more of the infotainment system I really like MBUX. It’s my first Mercedes and I really enjoy it. I think it’s much better looking than GLB/EQB.
Did you notice the rear camera making a noise when it opens and closes from the back door? It opens whenever the car slows down walking speeds. I just test drove one and found it annoying.
I owned a previous generation GLA45 AMG, and the car is decent overall. It's fast as snot, but it did feel cheap. Pay for the audio system upgrade because it's pretty bad.
@Crazen2 The 2021 is a huge improvement over the 2019 I owned. I would make sure it's the 45 and not the 35. Test drive if you can. Go for it, you'll love it
@Crazen2 If you can afford it, you won't be disappointed. My gripes were due to it being bare bones. It didn't have a lot of options from the factory. But, the current generation addresses everything.
I have a 2024 and no complaints.. is a solid car to least great sound system and very appealing inside drives nice .. again I would never buy anything other than a Lexus luxury wise since they are more reliable than Audi Benz or bmw.

I just can't handle being crammed into tiny cars sitting almost on the ground, I need space and height for visibility and comfort. I must be getting old.
A Benz with a prop rod for the hood….smh… IMO, never buy the “entry” or “affordable” model from a luxury brand. Everyone knows you HAD to choose this just to get the brand. There are much better options in other brands that will give you more for the money. It will also say more about you as a person if you own your particular situation. (For example, the Hyundai Pallisade Calligraphy blows this out of the water)
@@PaNativ I am glad you do! Not everyone is an idiot, thankfully. If Roll Rolls-Royce wants to sell a vehicle for $600,000 but it costs no more than $100,000 to make, be my guest and go buy it if you can afford it. Some people out there like to be seen in order to feel fulfilled in life.
I’m short and disabled so getting in and out of this “suv” allows for accessing the vehicle while still allotting for more storage than a sedan. As for it being the entry level, some of us prefer German engineering while keeping money in the bank still. Overall, it’s a great entry vehicle in my opinion and I’ve had several of the larger and more sophisticated models. I test drove the competitors too and still bought this one for my individual needs. I don’t think everyone is as interested in showing off. Growing up in Germany, exposed me to the quality and engineering these vehicles provide. JMO

We could occasionally hear it if we didn't have any audio on in the background
The rear camera constantly recalibrates at low speeds and yes the noise of the camera door opening and closing is very annoying.

It is normal hear a clunking down shifting gears 3 to 1 till stop completely evrytime on the GLA models?
Yes. Since this is a dual-clutch transmission, you can hear the shifts if you don't have any audio on
