Welcome back to a new season of Unboxing Russia! In this late-summer pilot episode, Ekaterina Schulmann and Pradnya Bivalkar delve into recent developments in Russia, including the three-cornered prisoner exchange and the Ukrainian offensive in Kursk. They discuss the implications of these events for ordinary Russians and the stability of the political machine.
Additionally, they examine the issue of accountability in authoritarian and semi-authoritarian regimes. While flawed democracies with autocratic tendencies like India struggle to translate articulated interests into policy, Russia's full-fledged authoritarianism is pushing the boundaries of what it can get away with.
This mutual vibe is incredible, both of you are incredibly charismatic and it is great to see this podcast. Thanks! :3
"Spicy Policy"...
Both speakers are amazing, thank you for the interesting talk. Watching you from Russia.
“Recipe for political science”! Thank you for another great episode!
How unfair that RUclips show me this channel only now. Being very passionate fan of Ekaterina Shulman I feel left out
Awersome! Thank you, ladies!
Thank you for this conversation! And my suggestion about the name of the show: "Hot potatoes, top bananas, bad apples and bigger fish to fry" (These are all idioms, if someone didn't catch on)
Thank you. I've learned a lot. Well done.
Mukbang video fits perfectly. Eating delicious Indian & Russian food while talking about politic... perfecto
Waiting for the pilot episode of a new cooking show called “In A Pickle” 🥒
brilliant!
I would watch this, gladly.
FOOD and THOUGHT
Cooking show with politics sounds actually pretty interesting
Thank you, very interesting episode.
But more information on timing would be beneficial, not gonna lie
Thank you very much for both of you!
At least you can make the perfect tea-tasting show
You are not the first.
@@user-zg6yz4qm4k and definitely not the last one
cooking show "No Vobla"?
Cooking show with politics? Sign me up!
My mind went straight to "spilling the TEA" tho, not so much cooking in the name
Gotta go think more I guess
While viewing the comments i caught myself in the thought that it is really a great suggestion about the food plus political issues. There is no doubt at all that it would have a great success. How can we persuade you, dear madams, i don't know.
Two title suggestions. 1. "Kasha and the Bear" Self explanatory, I think. 2. "Scorched Tongues", subtitle: Indian spices and Russian suppression of free speech.
How is nobody talking about what happened in Bangladesh?
🇧🇩🇮🇳
i wonder so much !
cooking show would be epic!
Regarding the moment when it is time to say "enough is enough": as a russian myself, I have very pessimistic views on when russian people in general, or even when russian "elite" will say "Enough" to mr. putin: I think this will never happen. Even if the TV will be broadcasting as he is openly eating newborns and drinking their blood, this will be taken by people as business as usual.
Yes. I think the same 😞
"Hedgehogs in sourcream" or "Boiled languages". (Those were actual pricetags in one state corporation's canteen when they tried to be nice and translated all pricetags for expats from an American company they were having projects with at the time).
Unboxing something that always wants to stay in a box. Because the box is better than the contents.
Cucumber chutney
Beet vindaloo
RUclips doesn't work at all on mobiles. But there is a way to avoid these blocks. As for today.
"The Political Scientist's Cookbook"?
Regarding making angry the parents: do I understand correctly, that people in Russia actually think that it's the RUclips's fault and it's RUclips who tries to block its own services in Russia as a part of western anti-russian policy? They're not even aware that's it's russian authorities who are trying to block RUclips. I've seen some screenshots with users from some Russians leaving their angry comments about it, that is where this hypothesis is coming from.
It is the official position of the Roskomnadzor - the agency that is responsible for monitoring and blocking unwanted net resources. RUclips is not in any official blacklists and not involved in a lawsuit against the government. The official position is that after its retreat from the country in the spring of 2022, the RUclips's facilities in Russia start to degrade and fail due to minimal or no maintenance. It continues to maintain this position in all of the official responses - both in media and in official correspondence.
It's quite noticable that there's a push of the troll-farms to present it as so. They both produce misinfromation top-down and simulate that misimformation is recieved from down to top. This sort of campaign is hard to counter without massive effort on equal terms, and impossible in the controlled space. Perhaps, if RUclips itself was giving a warning that it's being blocked by authorities, the campaign would be in vain, people would trust RUclips over censorship.
I love how mispronounced the actual cartoon name enough to suggest it as a new show's title. Like the transition from "Masha and the Bear" to "Masha and the Beer". Highlights the historical period with irony and has a cooking element to it. Hopefully, youtube's politic regarding alcoholic beverages is not too harsh to avoid recommending it to your loyal listeners
Let's mispronounce it even more: "Kasha and the beer"👌
@@ywetafil в одну цену
You could try different Indian teas duscussing politics and call it "Spill some tea on Russia")
It really is a pity the channel is not more popular. I wonder if it's possible to engage in a marketing campaign to spread the word about channel among relevant channels - plenty of relevant English-speaking channels. May be some Facebook advertising?

Is putting people in the UK for a Tweet an imaginary crime? Funny to watch these idiots talk
Shiw name idea: PreCURRYous oKASHAn
I'll see myself out now
Ok, since it's the comment time, why no?
Well probably there is necessity to have a dialogue about polls, since they are now kind of useful mirror and that Russian Field 'loyalists measurement', or 'putin effect'
