Honestly, if you didn’t mention that the camera was different, I probably wouldn’t have noticed lol. Also, I loved how you talked about how a lot of toy lines are multi-generational! I feel like missing that is a pretty easy trap to fall into that a lot internet people do.
I'm really glad that Classified is giving us figures from beyond the RAH era. With the release of Kamakura and the announcement of Shadow Tracker, My fingers are crossed that we'll see characters like Agent Helix or the Zombie Viper in the near future.
Awesome review! And I totally agree about letting other generations enjoy a franchise. Too many toy channels bash things that didn't come from their era. And I'm saying this as a 80s/90s kid, myself. We dont have to like everything, but, theres no need to talk down on something just cause its not the version you grew up on. Keep up the good work!
Gotta love the reaction to this figure from certain people, where they say "Kamakura is PROOF! That Hasbro wants to KILL the Classified Series!!!!!" (sic).
to awnser the question of why make Kamakura even though no one cares is.....A: it was an easy figure to do cause of parts reuse and B: he's fracking awsome
I was going to wait to pick this guy up hoping he'd go on clearance but I noticed it had sold out for about a week and then it went back in stock so I jumped on it. It's definitely not a deluxe figure but I'm also a fan of the character. Hopefully we can also get a billy with the eyepatch. I really want to replace the floating belt piece with a legends hand ninja lower gi piece so that he could be more comic accurate with the longer gi.
I admit it was a bold move for Hasbro to dig into a GIJoe line that wasn't directly made by Hasbro. They've sort of jumped all over the time line. I had long since stopped buying figures when Kamakura (Throwdown) was released. Even though he wasn't a part of my toy history, I got him anyway because....ninja. Nuff' said :)
This one caught me by surprise. Like you said yourself, this was the era of G.I. Joe I grew up with. Seeing Kamakura get a brand new modern figure alongside some of the more classic characters is kind of surreal to me. Now we just need Jinx, Hasbro.
to me, it s not a question of 'my era' or anything else than which version looked better. the spy troops had a weird shaped body, and the colour schemes were not always great. I think the development time was too short, or the sub contractors were inexperienced. my best version of Kamakura was the 90s because of the camouflage pattern. I wish Hasbro had chosen that colour scheme for him. I m really not the ninja fan type. I like Stormy, Kamakura, slice & dice, the red ninjas, and Jinx for variety. the rest? meh... they re ok, not more. if I buy a 6' ninja, it will be him and Stormy, I passed on night creepers. good show bro.
I csn’t wait to receive my kamakura soon as amazon just recently restocked as of the time of this comment 10:27 PM and I can’t wait to display him against the aliens and definitely the predators.
Fun fact. Kamakura didn't debut in spy troopers. He was created by DDP comics and then put into shows. He also was in sigma six. Also this figure is actually what he looked like in the comics. They changed him slightly in the 2 pack you have. Also to note, in the comics Snake Eyes is dead. And Kamakura is now the new Snake Eyes in the current comics. Take it from someone who was born in "78" and is a long time Joe fan since the original toon and comics.
Cool info! For me G.I. Joe is always a toy first, before any show or comic or movie, so when I think of Kamakura's debut, I think of his first toy, that being Spy Troops.
Ok, love your enthusiasm for the figure to be sure but the lecture regarding appreciation of opposing interest in certain IPs and their respective eras? Bro, a bit much😅 As for this figure, I meant to grab him some time ago. But somehow other figures jump ahead of this good character & Figure. So, O have rectified that mistake- he arrives tomorrow ✨✨✨🙌🏼🙌🏽🙌🏾🤓
Unfortunately I do feel there is a bit of agism and generational divide in toy collecting, and I have felt that in how the properties and eras I grew up with are seen as "trash" by those older than me. My brother and I are similar ages, and he adores collecting the mid-2000's joes. He has been mocked and ridiculed in the community for his interest, and it saddens me how older collectors have this ill-will towards us younger fans and look down on our interests. I am very glad you're not one of those collectors! I really hope you enjoy it, and thanks for watching!!
I think transformers robots in disguise 2015 is one of the worst transformer shows what it did to bumblebee and Optimus prime is an excusable stronger than sideswipe had potential but was wasted the villains completely wasted and support of transformers robots in disguise is power rangers not in a good way
Sigma 6 was what introduced me to g I joe was a blast watching in the cw

One of Snake Eye’s best apprentices.

yah thats an uzi
a reg size there are several variants
its not a mac 10 since this has the little folding stock and a bigger barrel
While we played with our toys, Kamakura studied the blade...

I personally would love to see the Valor VS Venom design for Jinx in Classified but idk if that'll happen.
@@Jcc2224 Probably not, but hey, anything is possible I suppose.

Good figure but not holsters for guns and no suppressor great video

Kamakura took his name after an era of Japanese history not the city. He was introduced as Kamakura in the Image comics.
He was first introduced in DDP comics. Not image.

i didn't even notice you were using your phone and not your what ever els you use (:
I found one at Ross for 7.99
Is Kamakura that one yellow ninja from sigma 6?
Yes Kamakura was yellow in Sigma 6. Love that design too!
Ahh Sigma 6. Sort of the OG Classified line in a way. Granted I think they were a bit bigger, if I remember right.
