Have a 2016 180ps with powershift. Love it. Only had 1 issue where it would go into "limp mode" under heavy load. Turned out to be an oil sensor on the gearbox (changed under warrenty).
This is my 1st owned auto and will never go back to manual, I tow with it and its superb. Though I had a VW passet 2012 DSG for a week and hated every minute of that.

hate the power shift box your right what you say about the correct oil if you use the wrong typeit makes the plastic spacers disintergrate in the clutch pack making the car judder and the plastic magnet holders on the selecor forks to brake away and the car dosnt know what gear it is in. what i would sugest and i know its expensive but get a box service kit from ford they come with the back seal for the oil filter housing that is bolted to the side of the box and replacement bolts and gaskets for the mechatronic unit so you can clean the swarf from the selector magnets runs like a dream after. the reason for going through the gears befor hand is it puts the box in service mode opening all the solenoidsalowing the oil to compleatly drain. you do the same after as it will purge the air from the system and take it out off service mode. its the same prosses when changing the clutch pack

Ford recommend servicing the powershift every 37,500 miles or three years. My car is coming up for 110,000 miles. You know when the oil needs changing as the clutches start to slip to the point where every change is an issue and in gear acceleration is met with major slippage, change the oil and the car is beautiful and smooth again, I love it and have no complaints, I also tow with it and again it’s fantastic. I would definitely have another. Thanks for the video 👍

Certain I don't have any leaks so must just be wear and tear. Have owned the vehicle since 119,000 and now on 142,000 with no evidence it's (outbox oil and filter) never been changed. Just ordered the same kit that's in the video for £112. Just a case of trying to figure out how to get the car jacked up and level to carry out the drain and re-fill.

No other problems but smell of hot oil that lingers, hence need to change oil. car has 95,000 miles on clock and don`t think oil has ever been changed. Good car, good gearbox. I remember the first time I saw a Figaro and I was struck at what a great little car it looked. Nissan certainly boobed by not selling it over here. As for electric cars, I was watching Trucking Hell on Freeview the other night and a brand new electric/hybrid/whatever Audi caught fir on the back of a car transporter. When they got it back to the yard the recovery company had to submerge it in a skip full of water for a week because the batteries have a habit of going unstable and may explode!

Hi Alan, newly subbed to your channel, wish I'd found you a couple of weeks back, you would of saved me a lot of heartache and work. I need to ask, Iv'e got an 11 plate 1.6 econetic, it lost teeth of the cam belt. I stripped it down (head off etc) it's all back together but won't start, could I possibly 180 degs out with the timing? Thanks in anticipation

    I’ve Done this twice now
Best to use the Volvo service techniques for this dct it tells you the transmission temps etc
Mine started to shudder at 44000 km so I just do it at 40000km intervals instead of the recommendation
Of 60000 with a genuine ford
Filter kit plus Reputable dct oil that has the correct ford specs

A very informative tutorial. Thank you for your advice, most helpful. Just hope it works. I'm getting warning display on the dashboard, transmission limited, hopefully a gearbox and filter oil change shall rectify the issue. Just one question what is the model of the meyle kit that you used? I currently drive a 13 plate Titaniumx X BS.

I also have a 2.0 TDCI Mondeo Estate with the powershift gearbox. I do my own oil changes and I'm also disabled. (hence the auto box)... I love the Powershift transmission... Plus I love the Ford Mondeo Estate. I just don't know how I'm going to cope with an Electric car when the time comes. They are not big enough like the Mondeo Estate. Plus You CAN NOT Tow a Trailer with an Electric shoebox. So I will be servicing and keeping my Mondeos on the road with the 6 speed Powershift Gearbox until the Government come and drag my beloved Ford from my cold dead hands after 2030.
    Long Live the Ford Mondeo.

Hi, dual clutch and torque converter have different procedures and different oil types.. check on your gearbox the Manufacturer, or run a diagnosis and check the TCM part number to be 100% sure of what gearbox are you using. Cheers. Noroc.

Good video Alan... 👍 I have a Mondeo sports 11 plate 2ltr Diesel Automatic with 80,000 miles...Bought the car a few months ago and noticed when under load i.e. going uphill the Rev counter used to ‘twitch’. Read local forums that suggested lowTransmission oil can cause this. So I had the Transmission oil and Filter changed and now it’s fine. Could OLD Transmission oil have caused this OR LOW Transmission oil, in which case does that mean I have a slow leak do you think?..... 🤔. Steve.

Jadder at 1st to 2nd gear is a common behaviour with PS boxes. Check how old is your battery. If battery cant hold the voltage the gearbox will jadder between 1-2. Please dont ask me why. This is the cheapest you can check before you start spending money on crazy expensive components.

I let a mechanic change oil but still same. What can be the problem? when it runs on the street all gears go in smooth. Its just from standing still when selecting D or R it feels like some delay
