Carmit was a childhood friend of mine. We were both in a dance group called Kids of The Century. She was so talented at such a young age along with a beautiful heart. Her mother believed in her from birth.

I absolutely love Carmit! always noticed her in music videos, award shows, Superbowl shows, in magazines, and in movies. She stood out to me in that beyonce video she was in. She just has that "it" factor. When buzz around the Pussycat Dolls first started in the mainstream media she again always stood out like a leader. Always wished she was given more solo lines cause her tone is out of this world, just a great contrast to all the other voices. like when you hear her voice on the radio you know its her. She was always my fave Doll. Such an accomplished career she’s had with dancing, worked with the late great Aaliyah amongst other greats.

Wow this is crazy because i didn't realize how many celebrities were born with Cleft lip/palate. I just googled and there's quite a few. I was born with cleft palate in the 80's (my lips were ok but my jaw was slightly sunkin in. But It grew back on it's own) I guess I was lucky compared to her because I only had surgery twice. And according to doctors now, it's practically healed itself.
Doctors were expecting me to need surgery as an adult but so far so good. I haven't had any issues. Although i do wonder if this has had some effects on me in other ways. Like psychologically. I do struggle with work and mentally like being organized and I'm not great at most social events. But like, as far as being bullied as a child, I really didn't have any problems. I got teased maybe 3 times for my lisp but there was always that one friend who stuck up for me. And usually when kids heard why I talked the way I did they were actually pretty understanding. So idk? So hearing her story makes me all the more grateful. My biggest battle with cleft palate was learning to talk plain since i only had speech therapy 3 or 4 times growing up. That part was a bit rough. But other than that I've done Ok.
It's pretty interesting and cool to know about other people who shared similar struggles yet they grow up to be highly influencial/successful people. 😊
I was smitten with her at the height of the Pussycat Dolls. I don't care what anyone says, she was my favourite in the group, and thought she was gorgeous.
I can only think of her of the top of my head in the videos for Beyoncé, Aaliyah, The Offspring! ❤ Love Carmit!
I truly do find her, inspiring and i think its so amazing that they are now starting to allow us to be noticed as being humans we have childhood memories and everything everyone has.
I understand her fear of her daughter having it to, we have it in our family.
My dad was the only one in my grandparents history to have been born with both the cleft lip and palate on only one side, my brother was born with with sides lip and palate it was much harder for him and he showed me to never give up even when people sy we cant do stuff we proof to us and them we can do it even better then we expected.. my sister was born with a cleft lip and soft palate but yes she was bullied tremendously and i was bullied for being her sister it made me very mad but then my brother explained to me and my sister would come to me and say she wished she had what i have a normal upper lip and its then that i realise her pain having to except yourself specifically being a women which our lips are what is the main thing people look at when we speek and just in general and that she couldn't hide she had to just go on with her days, now she had an opportunity to 'fix' it and she said no she love the way she looks it took her so long to learn to love herself to fight off mental abuse left right and center that she doesn't want her super power to be taken away its her battel scares and its there to allowe her to tell her story its so inspiring as well i myself have a cleft uvula and a pit on my bottom lip but still i deeply feel these people's pain and i am turning my art into an advocate and educating everyone about our feelings how we see the world.. my son was born with the same as my dad and i still love him extremely much it is however heartbreaking having to know i have to endure surgeries in fear of him surviving and having to tell him how to handle being different and how to own it its hard but hey i will fight i will keep my departed brothers fighting legacy
