I’m new to your channel and Merit. I found Merit shadows by accident but have 5 of the 8 and love love love them! As I have gotten older my eyelids are hooded, not as smooth and well just more mature, lol but I love the way Merit is able to give me what I’m looking for and not emphasize! Yes I have been waiting on this ! I love those colors and can't wait to try them. I only wear eye shadow sticks these days because I'm not fooling around with palettes. I also love the lip color. The 1990 is the only Merit shade I don't have and now I have to get that one. It is my favorite lipstick formula. I love every Merit product I have tried which is quite a feat. Love your channel!!!!

I enjoy both singles as well as palettes, but I'm craving easy, cream singles for my daily makeup looks right now. These are perfect for an easy, fast look. I've been dithering on picking up the Victoria Beckham Beauty shadow sticks. Have your tried those? Any thoughts?

I’ve tried the VBB Eyewear Sticks. In my opinion, they’re a little dry and hard to blend. Sometimes I wonder if it’s user error 😂 Not a daily makeup wearer.
@@EngagingQuillI've hear certain people wax poetic about those Eyewear Sticks. Especially the shade Trench. Are you blending with a brush or your finger? Maybe switching it up might help? I'm keep adding the shade Trench to my cart, but then I don't actually purchase. I might eventually, but for right now, I'm pretty happy with what I have.
@@thelipstickgal yeah, that’s why I think it’s me 😂 I usually start with fingers then try a brush. I picked up Trench & Pecan when they first came out. Trench is a bit warmer than I hoped. I’d probably have better luck if I played around with them. It’s usually when I add the darker shade in the corner/crease that I start to have blending issues. Have you tried the Gen See cream shadows?
Thank you for sharing your opinion on these new shadows! Soon as you mentioned there’d be a video, I held off from ordering. I’ve had my eye on Merit for a while, but hesitated to order due to the mixed reviews {concerning the foundation stick breaking & not suited for drier skin}. Definitely like the idea of a minimalist look! Hope you’re feeling better & getting rest at home.
I understand your hesitancy to order. I have 2 of the re-formulated and re-packaged foundation sticks. (the lightest 2 shades) I really like them despite the fact that they've both broken off at the base. I just make sure that they're facing up when I take off the cap, and I'm fine. In my opinion, it's not the same as a broken lipstick. A broken lipstick in regular packaging shifts back and forth in the bullet packaging and the stick of makeup gets more and more smooshed. Since this is already in slim-line packaging, and I only roll it up as much as I need it, it's really not a problem for me. I almost never notice that it's broken. As to it being really drying, I think that is a decision you'd have to make based on your skin type. I have combo skin. Normal most places, but oily in my T-Zone. This wears really well on my 48-year-old skin. Even under the eyes. I'm actually surprised at hos much I like this product. I'm normally not a foundation stick girlie. I also really like the Basma Foundation Stick. It's the only other one that I've tried that works well on my skin. It doesn't have problems breaking off at the base, and you might actually get more product in the package. Both are available at Sephora. Basma has more shades than Merit does. Over all, I really like Merit as a brand. It's just super easy makeup to wear. These eyeshadows are so easy to use, but I hear they crease on people with oily lids. Something to keep in mind if that's a concern for you. Thanks for watching. BTW, I'm feeling much better and healing quickly.

It’s pricey & I’m afraid to take the plunge in case I don’t like it
I haven't tried the Westman Atelier foundation stick yet for the same reason. I also think they have such a small range of shades. I have been really curious about the blush sticks. I might pick up a kit of minis if they offer one this holiday season.

I love Viper! That's the shade I immediately gravitated toward when I first saw it on the Sephora app. I'm trying so hard to only choose 2 and not go crazy😂 I have a similar skin tone to yours, so it is so helpful seeing it on you. ❤
I LOVE Viper too. It's stunning as a liner smudged all around the eye into a cat eye. I saw Andrea Ali use it that way and it inspired me to do it that way too. So fun, colorful, but not too much. I love it. I have used it all over the lid, lightly buffed in and it's stunning that way too. (A similar look to what I did in this video, but with Viper) It's been so easy to reach for these and get an easy, but dependable eye look. I did hear from someone who has oily lids that these crease. I don't have oily lids; these wore so well on me. I'm definitely a one and done shadow sort of girl. I get overwhelmed by a bigger palette and I only use a few colors over and over. I'm putting these new Merit eyeshadows on my wish list.

I'm doing much better tonight. Still not sleeping, but I'm not in much pain. For that, I'm grateful. I love the look of the eye soots, but I can't get them to not crease. I've tried everything I can think of, but they still crease. 🤷♀️ I prefer these because they don't crease, but since you don't have that problem, you might prefer the eye soots.

I've been wondering when you will review them. I'm not a purchaser of large pans because I get severe allergic reactions from certain colors.This happens instantaneously. My eyes swell & you would think that I was in a boxing match. I did purchase the BP quad in brown from Patty Dubroff which I like. I enjoy Merit & their minimalist approach. Thanks 4 this review. I'm currently in the car on the way home from the hospital. It's a long 5 hour drive. I did pre-record this, but it was therapeutic to spend so much time in makeup before hand. I won't be in anything more than skincare for a while now. I just don't have the energy at the moment. I'm sorry that these types of shadows caused allergic reactions. I can imagine it's extremely frustrating to have your skin react like this. 😥

Thanks! The earrings themselves are white gold hoops from the brand baby gold. The safety pins are actually earrings themselves. They're Stirling silver safety pins from bauble bar. I will wear them on their own, or dangle them as charms on my white gold hoops. I also make several different types of charms for these earrings. Some are semi precious beads, and others are Swarovski crystals. I just love the options of changing the charms on my earrings. I do the same with my 14K yellow gold paperclip hoops. I make charms out of semi precious beads. It gives me options and that's what I need. Thanks so much for watching today.

I've been eyeing the 1990 lipstick for awhile but I have a light complexion with rosy undertones and am not sure it would work on me. Would you say the undertone is more brownish or pinkish? It looks great on you.
I'd say it's more brown than pink. Just my perspective. I have a monthly favorites video coming up on Friday where I post a comparison between MERIT 1990 and Lisa Eldridge Meet Me In Berlin. They're extremely similar, but the LE one is just a touch lighter. (And has a hint more pink) Once I'm back home, I'm more than happy to swatch the two side by side. You'll have to remind me to do it because I'm very forgetful at the moment. (Lots of pain meds while I'm still in the hospital.) ,🤕🥴

I got the color Social and it's not as purpley as I'd hoped and is more of a raisin/marroon-ish color but I like the formula enough that I put some more in my cart to order in future. I don't have time to do much to my eyes but slap on a one and done, so these are great for me. I like Merit products but I've been disappointed in shade descriptions and how warm a lot of the shades are. For ex: I got Millenial lipstick, which I think they refer to as a classic pink, but it's not a real pink on me, it's a neutral nude.
Yes, description and photos aren't always as helpful as I'd like. I really enjoy these new shades. So glad to have picked up 2 shades I will use regularly.
I guess I mix around from a small palette (like Roen) to larger (ND). But my collection is small in general. I also like singles. What I would like to do is get a holder for my singles as they tend to be in a drawer and lack organization. I haven't seen Merit in the UK, certainly not in our larger beauty websites but I may be wrong on that. I'm a little hesitant about registering to too many websites, so I avoid the own brand websites. Thans for sharing this nonetheless, especiall so close to your op.
It was SO fun to play in new makeup. (2 days before my surgery) Sometimes beauty is just the distraction I need. These wore well, and now I'm excited to try a few more shades. I would love a glimmery formula of this product as well. I use my singles more when they're right within easy reach. I have a small acrylic organizer that keeps everything in one place, and I love it. I hope you find a storage system that works well for you.
